Once you get the skip shifting down, you'll wonder how you ever shifted any other way. Wait'll they tell you to take off bobtailing in 4th...

It doesn't translate very well to my Dart, though...:biggrin_2556:

    harlycharly55 and mattbh23 Thank this.

Day 5, Passed my first driving test today, only screwed up 1 shift and it wasn't a down shift! I was getting on the freeway and kind of screwed it but recovered right away. Only knock me for 8 things, said it was much better than he expected! That was also including the entire truck pre trip, tanker pre trip, driving, backing and post trip. So much more on these tankers and pumps to check! All in 95 degree heat and atleast 90% humidity!

Hey Harly, I'm right behind you. I'm set to go to orientation on the 22nd, but I'm going to try to get them to move it up to a week from tomorrow.

Got a quick question for ya:

I'm going to take the stray dog up there and leave my vehicle at home here in South Texas. I figure to go straight out once the orientation is over and I will just fly back to Corpus Christi after I've logged some time on the road. Anyway I'm trying to scope out the neighborhoods around the Red Roof to see what there is for eats and maybe a movieplex or something. Are they putting you guys up at the one on the East Fwy or one of the ones all the way across town?

I figured it was there. The other ones it would take all morning for the bus to get across town from the hotel to the yard. Houston traffic is murder from like 6a to, uhh...6a.

That's no kidding! You'll spend the first week at the Central St location, then go out 2 days with a TE, then 3 days of sqt's. Are you coming in as an experienced driver?

BTW, I love that .gif, I can't stop grinning when I see it. :D
