Hello everybody.
I'm sitting in the Comfort Inn in Red Oak Texas, just finished my first week at SNI, will be going out with my TE tomorrow. I have enjoyed my experience so far, not everything is perfect, but I never expect it to be. Everyone has been nice and very helpful getting a new CDL grad up to speed.
I'm 46 and this is my first time trucking, brand new career for me. I'm going OTR after orientation running out of Dallas OC. This is my grand adventure and I look forward to it. I look forward to meeting some of you out there on the road or here on the forum.
Any advice, questions or comments are appreciated.
Just getting started

That's exciting. Looking forward to future updates on your adventure.

There will always be a couple of hitches with the first week guys. Honest miscommunication, stress, interpersonal conflict (staff or new hires), the vast ammount of information covered with seemingly inexplicable down time.Reisende Thanks this. -

Left out of Dallas OC with TE another trainee and a load to Larado, got in about 2am. Different experience driving a truck with a load behind you.
Still enjoying my adventure. Thinking I might have made the right choice.
Oh and I met warhippy and his son on some down time at the Dallas OC. Good people, like most I have spoken to here at Schneider. Also was given welcome advice about managing HOS.
Once again, making me feel like I made the right choice in career and in company.dennisroc, TennMan, hal380 and 1 other person Thank this.
