Also Drifter42, the after 4PM crew (we call them the Muppet crew) that comes in to field calls for you in the event you need help, haven't even driven a truck, much less know what it takes to maneuver a rig around the roads, or what one looks/feels like inside one?

Hoagie, half the things you say don't apply to him because he is going on Choice, not becoming a company driver..... Like erratic miles, Gliders, per diem pay, etc etc.... As for money and time off, as I came from the SNI company side, I can honestly say I am making double what I made then.... And as for time off, I work 4 days a week versus 7 back then.... So take it for what it is.... Life is better, much better, at least for me, on Choice..... Welcome mike101402, if you need anything just ask for help or pm me......

Thanks for the responses guys, even the "negative"ones. I've been around this industry a long time . We all get jaded at some point, especially when our world involves trying to please people who have no concept of what it really takes to do our job. I swore 2 things a long time ago.... I would never drive for Schneider, and would never ever do lease. I'm not one that likes to eat my words, but I am. The truth is this is a totally different kind of program, and I will paint you an honest picture of it from day one.... Actually before day one.

Just thought I would throw up a few pictures. The blue W900 is "Oliver" I will miss this truck for sure. The 3 crumb snatchers are Ryder: he's my first born, smart as they come. His birth was the moment I truly understood unconditional love. He is my best buddy, and he has spent the last 2 summer breaks on the road with me. The ginger is my daughter, Liberty. She is my social butterfly I joke that she is the mayor of our town because you can't go to a store without her knowing everybody in there. I am blessed that their mother and I remain friends, split custody, costs, etc... right down the middle. If it's not my week to have them and I come home she never creates a fuss about giving them to me. The youngest is my baby boy, Tucker. To say he was a "surprise"would be the understatement of the century. I was told I could "walk away with no strings attached", but I would never leave a kids life so they could wonder why they weren't good enough. Staying involved in his life has been a blessing that i don't deserve.

The other pictures are of the only hobby I know more expensive and addicting then drugs: race cars. It's rare that I get time to race any more, but my stable currently includes 3 stock cars, and a late model. My girlfriend is the biggest supporter I could ever ask for. She not only makes an effort to understand my job and hobbies, but does what she can to be supportive of them. View attachment 71681 View attachment 71682 View attachment 71683

Well, belay my last. The picture of my truck is apparently too large of a file for me to add.

belay my last, DEFINITELY a Navy man.

Welcome and good luck in meeting your goals. Great group on this forum and from the choice side in particular. You will also have some Company pukes(I am dedicated one) chiming in too. To poke fun, commiserate or just generally to shoot the spit.
