It happens so don't get discouraged.
Sooner or later it will straighten out..as all things do.

    Sooner is always better though.

    TennMan and mike101402 Thank this.

I have to wonder about the cancelled freight. So far I had 1 load cancel just yesterday and it just happened to be the best most profitable load I booked yet.
When I was a company driver, I don't ever recall having a load cancel and I had quite a few preplans.

how far out in advance do you book loads?

thats what I'm saying. It's never the cheap crap, and the last time it canceled like a few hours after i booked it, and it was still "new" when I assigned it just a few hours earlier.

When a load cancels, do any of you call the customer and confirm that is indeed the case?

    baha Thanks this.

I book my loads about 3 days average in advance. This time I booked my weekend and within 18 hrs. of pick up, they informed me the load cancelled. Broke my load chain. I just took some time to relax, then deadheaded 75 miles to the next. Too late to rebuild the weekend.

You know how the check mark on the load means "confirmed with customer"? I Think that's their way to control the availability of freight for the company trucks. I don't believe they need to make 2 contacts with the customer to schedule a load.

Still very happy overall and have no regrets. this is just my feelings of what is really going on.

Reason is as a company driver the load assigns when your ready to go get it............very rarely 3 days in advance does a company driver have it on him yet unless it's dedicated feight or a holiday or such.

I will make it my new years resolution to get in a habit of keeping this thing up to date again. I can tell you I was supposed to be going to kentucky today, had 2 loads lined up to ease the pain of going home. ($) lol..... but I got sick yesterday. I was hoping to be better today, but no dice. Hopefully tomorrow is better.

Went home the 21st for the holidays. Planned on heading back out the 27th, but ended up really sick for a few days. Still not 100%, but close enough to it to get back to the grind. What a grind it's shaping up to be. Had a nice string of freight/revenue lined up,($3000 between today and sunday) beginning with a load picking up in charlotte, going to McCalla , AL. I get to the shipper and they kindly informed me they shipped that load yesterday with another carrier. Now I'm trying to put together a decent week with scraps . grrrrr.
