Ok, So after alot of thinking and a WEEK of trying to get ahold of my recruiter and the SFI Rep that has been working with me.. 6 emails 2 voicemails later still waiting for a response, But Ill get ahold of them Monday. Sadwar was nice enough to hand me some numbers of other recruiters so I can get this resolved.
So, Down to it, I have decided to stay with Knight. Was a hard choice as SNi has alot to offer and you group of people are a hoot to chat with also. But let me explain why I have choose this.
1. The Truck. I have put so much time and effort into this truck for a while now and now it's to the point its pretty much totally rebuilt. The fuel mileage is up and the best side of it all It's almost paid off. With 432k on the clock and a Cummins vs a Pacaar motor I think its worth keeping especially how little I owe on it. So I'm going to stick around and finish paying it off then be free to choose where I go.
2. Rate increase. I wont get into details on this, But after talking to Sadwar (and explaing the rate offered) and the fact that I run the Northwest. The rate I'm now getting paid would be hard to get in the NW on the load board especially consistently. And means I live over here and spend most my time here for now this seems like the right choice.
3. Freight Lanes, I have been here for a few years now. I know the in's and outs of where freight is and where its not. I know the area in the Winter time and what to expect as the winter months come.
Like I said this was not a easy choice and it could change. As it stand right now I have enough in my savings account to pay the truck off and still have a decent amount for break down. But there is some real advantages to keeping it leased for now alot of good protections in place in case it goes down for extended time.
Thank you all for your help your time and your insite. Schneider IC looks like a good place to be and frankly one of the hardest choices I had to make to turn it down.
Again Thanks guys, And please be safe out there.
