Couple weeks ago I was delivering LG appliances to Sears in KC. They gave me the signed BOL, pulled the dock plate and said have a nice day. I pull up five feet to get the doors closed and there is one of their employees in the back sweeping me out. I start cracking up at him, told him after the BOL is signed and dock plate pulled you should stand clear. We kinda joked about it, but what was he thinking jumping into a truck that was just cleared to leave. All his buddies were laughing at him, I offered to give him a lift south if he needed one, but he said, no thanks.

That was the only time I've ever had a receiver sweep me out. Really surprised me, I try to be careful pulling in and out of docks, but I watched him pull the plate. I'm just glad he didn't fall.

Just for future reference, Schneider's intermodal yard is in Marion, OH. It's probably about 3 or 4 miles to the east of that Whirlpool facility. It's on the same road you take to get back to US 23 only it's just on the east side of 23. Just something to keep in mind if you need a quick place to park in that area.

Sadly, for women that have a grudge against men, this kind of behavior is a perfect time to "get even". I've had several women receivers that were just down right nasty, even though I was courteous and well mannered. I'm sure to them, you're just another idiot man. Maybe bring her some flowers next time, and see what happens.:biggrin_2559:

Things that make you go Hmm, is the Whirlpool in Clyde, OH just as annoying when it comes to empties? I've seen loads going out of there on the board LOL

One thing the guards at Marion totally flip out about is nails in the floor. I'm tempted to just throw a couple loose nails on the floor at the very back of the trailer...

I've never been to the one in Clyde. I believe there is one in Findlay too, that one is not bad at all if it's the one I'm thinking of. Marion pumps out the most loads though. The one in Marion is a giant PITA to get to and from. In the middle of the night it is not bad. During the day it's a ****ing free-for-all with the swarm of 4 wheelers trying to beat you to the intersection so they don't get stuck behind you on one of the 10 available two lane, 16.1 ft wide state routes leading out of the town. I just get in the middle of two lanes and do the snake swerve until I'm out of the town LOL. And that's if you make it out of town without getting stuck behind the 16 mile long freight train that moves through at about 3 MPH... and once it clears you hit it again after you make a few more turns.

I forgot another run-in I had with the one in Marion, too. One time I was picking up a load out of there and it was snowing. I got to leave, mind you I was rollin vampire so it's the middle of the night and NO ONE else is there, I'm the only driver on the yard. I pull up to the gate and stop and go inside and get my bills. The gate guard tells me I need to pull up to the line (which I can't ****ing see because of all the snow on the ground). I thought he was joking at first until he said "sorry I know it's hard to see the line under the snow but you need to pull up to it". I had to go outside, kick the ground until I could find the line, pull up to it, and then go back to the shack to get my bills. I was off of the line by like 4 feet. I swear these people are just on a power trip because they're in a rent-a-cop position. It is friggin unreal.

Finally got out of there with the load today. Probably won't go back... will sit around and wait for loads out of the Findlay one from now on.

My best Marion story is one time I picked up there and was driving back east to us23 down that main strip east of downtown. Some car decided to run over a bicyclist. So Marion police had the road shut down while waiting for the ambulance to come. After sitting there for 10-15 minutes, the cop starts directing traffic onto the residential side street. I'm sitting there just looking at the cop not moving and he's motioning aggressively for me to turn on the side street. I have my arms up like "are you stupid"? He gets aggravated and points at me and then to the side street.

Next thing you know exactly what I knew would happen happened. The street was basically a narrow dead end street with pedestrians looking at me like I'm the moron. Go down about two streets and I have no choice but to turn left. Thankfully it was just someone's front lawn with no trees or obstacles because my trailer tandems were literally 20 feet into the guys front lawn. Had to make one more left turn the same way until I was back onto the Main Street. Of course, 3 minutes later they already opened the road back up and the same moron cop is directing traffic like nothing happened.
