Any info on the Schneider Costco account? I am thinking of making the change to Big Orange. I took a job hauling crude oil 3 weeks ago and was told they had plenty of work. Well, i was off from Friday until Tuesday and off again today. Load pay is averaging about $170 per day and you don't get a full week. Sick of the BS. I'm not trying to get rich but I want to make at least $52k per year. I know nothing about Schneider but what I've heard over the last 22 years of driving but I'm sure most of that was just talk. Looking for a place to retire. I'm getting sick of changing jobs.

I've run plenty of Costco loads in the NY/NJ area. Generally are pretty good places to deliver to, all Kimberly Clark and P&G loads I've taken there. Not sure about Texas and their setup down there. With your experience level you should be at top pay rate so I imagine 50K is realistic, although I don't see being any higher than 52K

I've been driving in this account for one year, I work 5/2 sometimes 6/1 but I'm home almost every night, unless they send me to El Paso or New Orleans. There are three stores near San Antonio, so you'll be able to sleep at your home very often. The distribution center is in Dallas (I-20 exit 458 ) and you can expect to drive between 450 to 600 miles per day, sometimes multiple stops.
Bottom line: I have 3 years of driving experience and my projected income for this year should be around 52kLast edited: Oct 23, 2014

jonargal, what would be a realistic average yearly pay for this account? I got my conditional job offer yesterday and they have me set up for orientation the first week of November.

You'll be getting between 2400 to 2700 miles per week, I don't know how many CPM they offered to you, but you will get at least 10k miles per month... You do the math

They said I would start at .39 cpm with a .02 cpm safety and performance bonus. I really appreciate the information.

At .39 CPM you'll be earning $225 every time they send you to San Antonio

I to am thinking of making a change from owner operator back to company driver and saw Costco dedicated with Schneider oppurtunity in DFW area. My wife and I run team and would be curious if jonargal or anyone else might know how many miles teams are getting on this account and if the teams that are there seem happy? Recruiter I spoke with said I would start at .43 and wife at .375 running team, and that avg was 5500-6000 miles per team, does that sound accurate or is recruiter feeding us just what we want to hear?

I was one of the original company drivers hired for this account back in 2008 when it first started. We had difficulty making any miles during the week. It was the back haul that was the problem. We brought back pallet loads out of Houston. You were expected to deliver it up to North Fort Worth and wait to be unloaded. That meant that you were missing out on the dedicated runs for the day. Don't know if it has changed. As far a team...you won't get the miles. It only services Texas (Houston, San Antonio, Austin, El Paso, Dallas/Fort Worth). El Paso was a 2 day run. Run out, do your 10 and run back. Do the math and you will see that there is no 5500-6000 miles a week to get.
