How's the fuel saving? And depending on where vent is you can place a can spaghettos in front of it and heat em up. Or even melt your sandals

Yeah, it'll burn you out of the cab if you set it too high

Put a water bottle in front of it, heat it up, pour in hot chocolate mix and good to go.

I have not had it a week yet. I'm not worried about saving fuel. I'm worried about wear and tear from idling. But, it's nice to reach up and cut heater on. I still have a habit of waken up and starting truck.lol

Woo, $2200 later the truck is out of the shop! Full PM with liquid gold (aka CAT) filters, new air dryer element, new brakes on rear axle, which also needed drums so new drums, 4 new batteries (had the shop load test them and they were bad)... should be good to go for a while! Now, if only I could get away from home... got some family stuff I can't miss going on through or at least until Friday, maybe I can get lucky and sneak out before the weekend? I was supposed to get the truck back yesterday, but with some of the extra work it took longer. If I had gotten it back yesterday I was seriously looking at picking up a relay and taking it 100 miles to the delivery... just to do it... LOL

The shop I have been using is Advanced Maintenance in Durham, NC. I've used them a few times and they have treated me well. They aren't always the fastest but usually they don't have much of a delay so it's the kind of thing where I can call up, drop the truck off, and it gets started on the next day. Nice folks and labor isn't too bad at $85/hr, compared to 110+ elsewhere. Hopefully they continue to treat me good because I've been looking for a long time to find a good local place within 30 minutes of home to get work done.

Yeah, i got a guy in Greensboro he charges $70 hr. He has a nice clean shop and do good work. I'm glad to hear things are coming together. Reading your post is like watching a boy, becoming a man. Thats the key in this business taking baby steps and not rushing into it. Keep up the good work!

Glad to see that you took care of your air dryer and had the cartridge replaced, most go unnoticed until they fail.

Well once my NAT updates should I should be able to book my first load that I'll pull with the KW. Found a nice short load that picks up after Christmas and will hopefully get me in position to run my southern triangle for a bit. The board is full of much better loads at the moment as they start planning freight for after Christmas, but I am choosing to do a nice light short load as a first one... if something goes wrong with the truck I'd much rather be in a warmer area of the country and close to home. I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas morning... except I'm waiting to drive my truck a few days after, lol.
