What is choice program? I have 7 months experience (or will jan 1 when i plan to switch companies). Would schneider bulk be a good fit with that kind of experience or should i try another tanker outfit? All the tanker want 1 or 2 years experience this is very frustrating i have all endorsements and cant even use them.

    Sorry didnt try to hijack.

I talked to a bulk operations guy a month ago and they had some drivers testing the program. Slow rollout for everyone else. Not sure how that is coming along, cuz I am switching to van IC.

I'm curious to see if they have enough loads to keep the tankers happy like the van guys seem to be. Van freight is pretty much everywhere, so running what ever lanes you want works. Seems like tanker would be more limited to certain areas?

Not limited to certain areas at all. I went all over with my loads. From SoCal to NYC. But some of it is concentrated in certain areas. Like Texas, Chicago, and, Pittsburgh. I'm guessing they have the freight to do this but then a lot of lanes don't open up to you right away. You have to get certified for a lot of different things. Hazmat opens up some. Then you get extra training for intermodal tanks. Then there's a separate certification for a lot of the customers. They won't even let you in the plant until you have 6mos tanker time. Others are closer to a year. And you have to take CBTs for some customers.

I'm considering IC Van but I'd be real interested in IC Bulk because I once had a customer tell me they paid $24,000 to have me drive out to them. Shipping only not what they paid for the contents of my tank. Imagine getting 65% of that for an 800mi run.

Do you honestly think that Schneider will pay you $15,600 to drive $800 miles?!?! Schneider Logistics sells that load to Schneider Choice for around $2500 and you'd get 65% of that....

That's the way it goes on the van side...

    Roll on...
