Good Luck, The rates are down but that's more because the fuel surcharge is down due to fuel prices being down.
It's amazing how quick the rates fall but when fuel rises the rates are slow to follow.knuckledragger and mickimause Thank this. -
TennMan Thanks this.

oh btw grab ALLLLL those cookies on day one because once you sign the contract no more cookies for you. no that is not a joke lol. I was pissed, I was looking forward to those cookies on day 2mickimause Thanks this. -
Everyone talks about those cookies, honestly I'm not a cookie fan but now I'm curious lolfreightwipper Thanks this. -
If you are leasing a truck from the company you drive for, wouldn't that make you a lease-operator as opposed to independent owner operator?
Read the small print in the contract that you will be signing and if the wording says lease, then you are not a owner!
Owner Operator clearly implies that the truck is owned by the individual, or company, inc , as to who holds the Title and the registration. -
I'm a lease operator. There was no small print in my lease about who owns the truck and it's not me. Which is exactly the way I want it. I have no intention of ever owning the truck. In fact, the contract is clear as a bell, "you do not own the truck, nor is the option of ever owning the truck given or implied"...
Tombstone and mickimause Thank this. -
Technically you are right but I can pick my own freight and I pay for the truck and I can do whatever I want the term of my lease.
How do you know I do not plan to buy my truck at the end of my lease. Regardless who hold the title truck is mine.skyviper73 and Bumper Thank this. -
At SFI you actually acrue equity dependent on your miles and length of lease. Also you pay down the residual with every payment and actually can OWN it if you choose.
knuckledragger, mickimause and Tombstone Thank this. -
Don't let the grinches on here get to you...I know a couple of Schneider LO's that are doing just fine and making a very decent living in the process. They like making their own load decisions rather than having someone else make those decisions for them. We all want freedom to steer our own course and just because someone else may be afraid to step out doesn't mean that you have to be. Have fun, enjoy trucking, and live the life you dream about. Others of us do!
Tombstone, drvrtech77 and skyviper73 Thank this.
