looking forward to how it goes? A couple of questions. how long have you been driving professionally.? how much down and what kind of truck? Will you be hauling reefer, dry, or tank?

I have 1 year OTR experience and 2+ years dispatching experience. I planned to buy something affordable first but because I'm a first time buyer most of the places required % 20 down and high interest rate. So I decided to go with Schneider Finance. It will be expensive but no huge difference than my original plan. I wont put any down, I will just put 1k security deposit which will be return at the end of the lease term. Truck is 2015 Freightliner Cascadia Evo and I will haul dry van for Schneider National.

You are responsible for making the truck payment and maintenance account payment each and every week. Around $900 or so. If you miss a payment you will be charged a late penalty. Under certain circumstances (a breakdown, etc.) they may split the payment up over several future settlements to make it easier for you to get caught back up. But "I want to take time off" is not a valid reason to miss a payment, so make sure you are prepared, whether it is putting away a little extra every week to "bank" up a payment to take time off, or making the payment directly from your bank account.

Smaller expenses such as insurance, etc., will just go negative on your settlement if, say, you took a full week off. Just remember that you'll be hit double on the next week settlement and that $150 or so will quickly become $300, and so on.

Well, there are many "small" deadzones that you will just learn as you go, it would be impossible to name them all. In general it is much easier to run anything from the midwest and east coast, than it is to run out west.

Thanks!! I wont limit myself. I can go everywhere as long as profitable and good coming out rates. However I would like to work in midwest and down south texas than northeast.

Looks nice but I dont like pete's interior design. Kenworth and Volvo are the best for cabin comfort and style.

There was a guy who was in orientation with me that leased one. Got to look inside, nice truck, but the interior of the T680 was much better imo.

I still don't understand why it's so hard for manufactures to design a sleeper where someone can have a comfortable place to sit and have space to actually work instead of some dinky little table. I think Volvo has a really good design with those workstations. Why we don't see that in more trucks these days I don't understand. Instead most trucks have two useless bunks, the top one which usually gets used for storage and the bottom one which along with being the place to sleep becomes an uncomfortable place to sit that usually involves stuffing a bunch of pillows behind your back in order to sit upright.

I like the couch in my KW but it still lacks an area to do stuff. There is a small table that folds down out of the door of one of the cabinets, but it's not very big. I think what I'm going to do is drill a hole in the floor and bolt down one of the flush mount marine table sockets (http://www.rvplus.com/detmar-table-leg-base-flush-mt-12-1127.html) and then shove a table in there (http://www.rvplus.com/detmar-table-top-rect-off-wht-12-1102-12-1102c.html) that I can pull out when I don't want it. Any reason why that wouldn't work?

Nevermind I need this done to mine. NEED. THIS.
