Walmart dedicated...I do it for the money.

Talked with a new Swifty in Sparks a couple of weeks ago and she told me that she is making .37cpm at slightly over 6 months of driving. Crete has offered .45-.48cpm if I will stay out for 5 weeks at a time. My dbl has told me there is a raise in the pipeline but no time frame given.
2 weeks to my 1 yr aniversiry...the magic mark where offers and opportunities happen!

Dear Pumpkin...you either get busy living or you get busy dieing. Translation: get busy paying or get busy good bye-ing

you want to seriously consider crete? Bend the ear of our returning former compnay driver now IC 48Packard. He just came back from there. That dude, he tells it true, makes sure to let you know it is experience and opinion and doesnt whitewash or sugarcoat. Whatever its worth , I trust his opinion.

Sounds like the Crete deal is a whole lotta northeast driving. Get you straight out east, run out there for 4 weeks, then straight on back. And if you plan on running west, Swift might be a slightly better option than Schneider since it seems Swifty has a better freight base out west. However, I don't see why you would basically make a move to what effectively is a worse company overall.

If you really want to stay out weeks at a time I'd look into Holland Enterprises. Lot of cross country refrigerated freight (alledgedly a 1600 mile average length of haul). Downside is starting pay is 34cpm with a cap of 36cpm. However, they apparently have 9cpm in potential bonus pay, from what I've seen 4-5 of that is easily obtainable. All crapcadias come with diesel APU, refrigerator for Ferrett, they'll install your inverter, they pay for satellite radio AND direct tv. If I wasn't happy with choice I'd be trying that place out personally

Now I am not busting ur balls...but a date without details means nothing.
I recently ask if I got a paid vacation, the reply I received said one week...no mention of paid vacation.

Getting to my first year anniversary means a pay raise but compared to what is being offered I need details otherwise it's more of the nebulous nothing spin that SNI uses on XM advertising.
Important to note that in no way am I accusing you of being a nebulous spin master...I appreciate your input and the information you are passing on.

Besides a few folks I deal with out of SLC-my dbl is great-, a few drivers I've meet and whose company is both welcoming and enjoyable, the time I've spent on TTR is why I have stayed with Pumpkin.
My observation tells me that all companies asked us to haul their buckets of ballshite...the only thing that changes is the color of the bucket.

I'm not considering Swift only noting the reality of their pay scale. As an aside I will say that regardless of who the other drivers at a company are, I know that I can be effective and successful wherever I decide to work.
Some of the worst and most disgusting pigs I have met in this industry were at SNI OCs; and as far as rediculous micro-management goes SNI takes a back seat to no one. I'd stay with SNI vs Swift only because I already know the parts of SNI that are retarded and have developed techniques for working around their bs...but if they cannot be competitive with their pay scale then there are options that start at .40+cpm.

A man asked a woman if she would have sex with him for 1 million dollars she answered yes, he then asked if she would have sex with him for $10, she replied, "No! What kind of woman do you think I am?"
He replied, we know what kind of woman you are, now we're negotiating the price.
I am a Hessian, a mercenary, a driver and money talks; ballshite walks.

I'd prefer to stay where I am but at a .45cpm rate.
Oh yea, I do want my cake and eat it too.
I don't want it all now, but I do want most of it soon!!!

Yes it is paid. Based on what your average daily rate would be.

    "You dirty rat..."
    Who said that?

Great info that unfortunately wasn't relayed to me from my manager. ..I had to learn the truth about life from strangers on the streets. ..hey is that candy in your hand? Why sure, I'd love to go for a ride with you.

Now the question is will I take the vacation or cash it out and keep grinding miles? What would a Hessian do?

    mickeyrat and 91B20H8 Thank this.

Did anyone read the thread about talking to drivers at truck stops?? Sounds like a fair number of certified misanthropes are holding CDLs.
Ferret has a few thoughts on this subject...but not tonight.

Thought I saw you in New Jersey, bobtail in a old truck stop with two fuel pumps, fueling up one tank in January. You're the only driver I'm aware of wearing that orange jump suit..
