SNI is ruining a great choice board. I know I've been here less than a year on the choice board but I've noticed they are bringing on more and more but in my opinion the number of loads has decreased. There's More CANCELLED loads and less empties available too.

Wow very interesting, I've had a feeling that it's growing way too quickly, for a lease deal it's the best out in my opinion, but only because you can pick your own freight and not deal with a dumb### fm. Although, high lease payments and lots of cheaper freight make it tough to balance.

    tucker Thanks this.

    lol..

well I took my dad on a cruise for his 80th birthday
    then my laptop broke
then I haven't been able to log into this site and have been fighting with changing passwords until I gave up
I've been very busy playing catch up from my time off.
Got lots and lots of stories... wanted to give it some time here to learn a lot of the good/bad before I write my own thread.
Like for example how Schneider is cheap and didn't hire enough people to answer the phones. SEM? Schneider Emergency Maintenance? Oh really.. have an emergency maintenance hotline where you always are put on hold for 30 minutes + every time before someone answers. Yeah real smart for emergencies lol

Cheap loads? How would you know to make such a claim? Do you work here or have access to the load board?
If anything it's like anything else... good and bad. There is really good freight but you better not think for one second about it and just assign it. Book now think and plan later lol.
This week saw a load in MASS going to Iowa monday for $1.90 a mile around 1300 miles. I missed out on a load in GA going 150 miles for near $7 a mile that was drop and hook at both ends and it was less than 10 miles away from me :biggrin_25521:

Yesterday I did a load from Louisville, KY to North Vernon, In. I was already in Louisville and it paid $3.98 all miles (80) and drop and hook all ends.
From there I picked up a load 15 miles away in Seymour, In going to Martinsburg, Wv about pays me about $2.15 all miles (535) and weighs maybe 5k if that. It's a plastic container load. I avoid heavy loads going into the Northeast never ending hills unless it pays very high. Hook/live unload
From there I pick up a load a couple miles away in Martinsburg going to Breningsville, PA $3.41 all miles (170) live load/drop

I left .48 a mile on the table at Shaffer and at 25 years old with one year experience I put money down on a brand new truck to lease for 3 years. No way in hell would I do that unless I was 100% sure I could do fine.
Which included me :hiding: these Schneider threads for months and also getting onto the load board myself before hand plus talking to other drivers and seeing what they're earning.
I didn't come for the prestige to pull Orange Schneider trailers lol.

Look man for me it's all about the lifestyle.
Where else can you can you work off a load board with thousands of loads where you just click and it's yours, most being open window drop and hook and be paid %?????
    Nowhere.
It's very nice to have open window drop and hook appointment man.. it opens up soo much possibility in your planning and general overall day to day lifestyle.
Say for example you wanna swing up for a day to see the wife but you get there and she's being a **** well you can take off and still simply drop the load today or tomorrow. It's all up to you.
This isn't one of those many terrible leases where you are paid by the scam mile plus fuel
    For example:
Celadon currently is paying $1.17 all miles :biggrin_25513:
    http://www.driveceladon.com/leasepurchase/

TranScam pays .84 CPM all miles plus fuel :biggrin_25523:
    http://www.transamtruck.com/Leasing-Services/About-TransAm-Leasing

As far as high lease payments? Well not really if you remember you're getting a brand new truck with zero down.
You can lease for 1 year here a brand new run of the mill Freightshaker for about $730 a week with zero down. It's really $1k down but Schneider gives you a $1,400 bonus into your maintenance account with a new truck so it wipes itself out pretty much.
If you were to buy the same kind of truck at lonemountain it would cost $2500 a month for 5 years after putting $14,000 down.
    Do the math.
Yes it costs a little more to lease a new truck but it's new and are covered under warranty.
I know everybody has different opinions about all this but overall it's not that bad of a lease.
For the record my payments on my lease might be up there but at the end of 3 years I'll have the option to buy my Kenworth for $59000. At that rate I could easily flip the truck and make some money back if I wanted to.
For example it'll be in the 350,000 mile range at the end of 3 years.
Dealers are selling t-680s with 500,000 miles for $90,000

    http://www.truckpaper.com/listingsdetail/detail.aspx?OHID=5719993

Just another thing to consider with that "high lease payment".

Is it perfect here? no matter where you go there's issues but overall I'm happy with my decision.
