    Schneider 14 Days On - 7 Days Off - AKA 14/7

Anyone out there familiar with this 'program'? Does it still exist? Is it really 14 days on and 7 off or is this make believe? Does the 14/7 apply to OTR, Regional, Dedicated or all of the above? Anyone know if any of the other mega carriers offer this schedule?
    Thanks for your help!

It's called the "Home Run Program". Work 14 days and take 7 off. Dispatched as any other SNI driver. You can work the week your off, if you want. I would think you would be slip seating truck with another driver.

I was on a program called "your time". 7 days off each month. Had to be taken all in a row. Work all other days of the month.

Thanks for the reply softtail. Good point about the slip seating. Guess it would be a trade off for having a week off. I'll search again using the term 'Home Run Program'

I looked into this 14/7 midwest tanker gig 4 years ago at Schneider. Wasn't allowed to take the indiana toll road then and had to park truck at terminal. No taking it home. Not wanting the expense of owning a car I went elsewhere. Wasn't a bad offer though. Was no slip seat if you believe the logic..??

o_O. think the recruiters were huffing the exhaust.

Roehl is prob the most home time friendly of the megas
    Tmc is home every weekend.

I've heard stories where these companies purposely keep you far from home, so when your 7 off comes up, you're nowhere near home. Remember, your home is the truck in these deals.

I would avoid doing it unless 7 days off is a must for you. Slip seating as a OTR driver is a PITA some times. I did it with JB Hunt for a spell. I would rather have my own assigned truck that I had a good feel for, and that I could look after. I would get into some of JB's trucks and the shifter would be flopping all over, seats not adjusting right, somebody else's stains all over the mattress, radio broken, heater motor barely working...et.etc.etc. Most of the slip seaters were too lazy to turn in a accurate report to the mechanics during turn in, and the next driver took it up the............you know what!

I did did this program with Schneider. Miles were a little less than when I was on a 14 out home for 2 schedule. The time off is great, if you can afford it. You don't keep the truck when you are off
