Just curious if any of you guys on Choice got the 579?

Would love to hear what kind of mpgs it gets? How is the ride and handling?

I always thought petes were just about looks and all else including functionality was secondary.

Obviously you never drove one. I drove a 379 for 3 years and loved that truck. After driving Internationals, Freightliners and Macks, it became evident Pete was about more than just looks.

Its also obvious that Pete has put a lot of thought into the aerodynamics and fuel mileage with this one.

    To each their own.

I see a few here and there. Not spoken to any owners though. Only thing I can figure, they have made it work. Including those with a hood of whatever manufacturer.

I see one from time to time, saw a grey one the other day that looked sharp. I was thinking about getting one but after hearing I'd have to wait till may it made my decesion to go with the 680 easier lol

Love it. Couldn't had picked better, my mpgs vary on weight and route.. 6.9 to 8.9.. you can say my avg is somewhere around 7.2/7.5 mpgs.
I pull a flat, I have high 7" stacks, roof fairing and no side skirts..
    500/1850 paccar, 13 spd 3.23 rears, duals 22.5 LPS

Nice, post a pic if you don't mind.

So with side skirts and no stacks the mpgs should be a hair better. Thanks

Just picked mine(579 pete) up the other day. took nearly 6 months to get built... 450 cummins isx 15 / 10 spd 3.55 rears . less than 1000 miles on it so I cant get a good reading on MPG. but 6.5 so far. roof faring only. make a lot of deliveries out in farm fields so all of those plastic side fairings would end up being torn off...... my advice is to find one on a dealer lot and make a deal...
