So I was approved to buy a truck from a used dealer. Called sni to see what was offered. She told me I would be making %65 of line haul. Truck insurance is $36 and $8.05 a week. She said that she does not believe they take a maintenance fund out which is kinda what i wanted. Can anyone provides some in sight here my truck payment is $1250 a month.
bring my own truck.

They only have the maintenance account for people financed through Schneider, and you are only forced to do that if you are new to SFI and have no proven track record how you operate. Outside trucks would not offer a maintenance account. With that said it's probably better NOT to have a maintenance account through Schneider as they control your money in that account and if/when you can use it. You'd be better off setting aside money on your own for repairs and keep track of it yourself.

Your truck payment sounds reasonable. I ran for Schneider years ago with an owner operator friend. I personally didn't care for them. To many driver leaders who had no real experience driving and no common sense. If you are looking for a company to hold your hand they're a good choice. It was my opinion that they were way to controlling over someone else's equipment. I definitely feel strongly about buying on your own. Don't get wrapped up in a lease purchase from a carrier. If you find you don't fit in there, you're stuck. At least with your own financing you can always go elsewhere.

The down side they don't pay ifta.

no "they " arent. You are through the fuel you buy. since you would have a sni fuel card to enjoy whatever discounts they get as an OO, they will then make the appropriate payments from your settlement fuel deductions. Ask they guys here. You will get better info , IMO.

You're likely correct. It was in the mid 90's. I didn't care for the way in which they disrespected our truck.Meaning they treated it like a fleet truck that was theirs. Took a razor blade to it and scratched the stainless all up. Maybe we just had a rare unfortunate experience. We were with specialized. I wish you the best of luck and hope you do well and like it there. To their credit they do have nice facilities in the terminals. Be safe out there.
