Hello right now im trying to help my husband find a new job do to the oilfield delay he works for Halliburton driving trucks and working on the oilfield. His trying to get a truck driving job as soon as possible that pays well or decent. The only problem is he got two tickets back to back in the same month. Con-way called and was going to hire him on the spot but the tickets were not even essecsive speeding they both were 10 mphs over the speed limit and that was it. He had an interview with Schneider today will this affect his chances and if so do anyone know of companies that aren't so strict. ALso to state the tickets he received were in his personal vehicle

its possible it will get overlooked. however it does show a measure of recklessness in getting the second so soon after the first. He just needs to keep putting apps in everywhere. but I wouldnt suggest taking the first thing that comes along. for folks that its harder to get hired on,. seems some really trashy companies will give em a shot but take advantage of them. so do extensive research if at all possible.
no other tickets on his record? acccidents? fired from a job? refused a drug test? has a 10 year work history or can show gaps in that time ? -
Personal vehicle or commercial truck, a speeding ticket is a speeding ticket, and will affect prospective employers.
You didn't mention how long ago these 2 tickets (in the same month) occurred, but sounds like not too long ago.
What happened with Conway? I assume they changed their mind after knowing of the tickets.
Going to companies that "aren't so strict", almost always comes with a significant price (crappier conditions, pay, and equipment).
I cringe at the thought of recommending many of the "less strict" companies. Did he pay/plead guilty to them, or still time to fight them in court?
What area do you live in?, as that helps identify what companies run in that area. -

Only clarifying to the OP that it doesn't matter. Same with "points". States use different point methods, some not at all.
Two 10 mph speeding tickets are the same 'hangman's noose' in this industry, whether the state rates them as 2 points or 10 points. -
In the trucking industry any ticket is a major deal.Ten miles over is too much and 2 tickets in a month is a double whammy. He may have to stay where hes at till they drop off his record.
