True. I didn't get this job to make a lot, and I'm not starving either. I wanted to get experience but looking at my paychecks it's kind of insulting. Some companies pay more for shorter loads which I think is only fair but making 10-15% of the gross seems like b$ to me. I'm sure they know many drivers will quit, then they get new ones. I saw people who got their CDL from 1-week Swift school, then after 6 days of road training at SNI they're assigned a truck.

I was told one is in Salt Lake City. Maybe it's 2 weeks including classroom training. The point is you won't learn much there.

I believe they are 3 weeks at all locations. I guess the rest is debatable. Not looking to get into a debate. Was just wondering where their 1 week CDL school was.

If you mean that $450.00 to maybe $750.00 in weekly net pay for up to about 100 hours of work per said week is 'getting better' (and this applies to an experienced driver, BTW) than I suppose that the only good thing is that things can't get any worse.

Now, subtract that $400.00 per month for medical benefits and your pay gets downright 'thirdworldey'.
Good luck trying to support a family... you can't.

But don't take my word for it; come to think of it, don't take all those 98% drivers that leave Schneider of their volition, after one year or less', word for it either.

I guess those 'sissies' just can't hack working so much for so little.

Bottom line: All the big mega trucking companies (Schneider, Knight, Swift, Conway Truckload, Werner, Etc...) are low paying sweatshops that have lobbied congress to pass (or un-pass) laws to enable both obscene and unethical labor practices that result in maximum profits for themselves at the drivers' expense.

And anybody that defends these companies in any way are either ignorant, in denial, homeless, a corporate 'exec', or bought off.

    Maybe even all the above.

Agree.... another rookie who runs his hours down sitting in the crapper and then blame the company because he has a low check.

100 hours of work per week? How many log books do you run?

I work Monday thru Friday, home every night, weekends off and never come close to using by 70 hours and make 900-1000 a week. Me thinks you exaggerate to much. How dare SNI get me home every night, slave drivers, I tell ya.

Ah yes, the only dedicated job in my area that is weekly TAH is Walmart. So I am also considering that as well.
