A year? Smart move anyway to wait. Get some experience inn learning time and fuel management. Fuel is the single greatest operating cost behind the truck itself. Its also the one where the driver has a fair amount of control over.

Go company. LEARN. If its still something you want to do then go for it. But learn on the company dime to better set yourself up for success.
