I am a new cdl holder. Wondering if someone has an answer to this.
from their website, Midwest regional shows sign-on bonus "experienced driver" at $11,000 and "inexperienced driver" at $5,500.
How much experience do they want here?
the intermodal job says experienced drivers of 3 months or more, some say 6 months or more.
I'm guessing 6 months because recruiter said they want you to stay in your starting department for 6 months.
also, is this bonus available for company drivers switching between divisions? or just for new drivers?
does a regional job apply to the 6 months needed for 'choice' program? website just says 6 months experience but have read on here has to be otr?
didn't know to ask these when recruiter was in class
Schneider indy terminal about 10 miles from my house. but also looking at ltl companies.

From my experience a sign on bonus just tells you how much a company sucks...
if they were a good company they would not need to deceive you with a sign on bonus...
most of them only pay $100.00 per month until the bonus is paid out which they know they will never do. -
I believe for the experienced driver is a minimum of 1 year driving. Sign up bonus is paid out at 3, 6, 9 months and your 1 year anniversary. Each quarter is at least $500.00, depending on the amount of the bonus. You would have to stay in that job for the entire year to collect entire bonus.
Each division has their own sign up bonus. Both type of drivers get the bonus.
Call the the recruiter and they will tell you the payout schedule and amount.dcwitt Thanks this. -

thanks for replies
recruiter said pay-outs were 20% at 45 days, 20% at 90 days, 20% at 6 month, 40% at 12 month.
Just didn't know the cut off for 'experienced' and overthinking it. (maybe get 3 months experience at pepsi, then get full bonus with schneider). 1 year probably right tho.
Good to know that bonuses apply when switching divisions within company.
Plankton: I went to Vincennes Univ tractor trailer training. just west of the airport off I70.
more good than bad, and I passed my driving test on first try. I went there mainly because they are not affiliated with any specific company (roadway=werner, sage=on-line) so they give good overall advice. also I needed forklift training. have lots of recruiters come in including ltl'splankton Thanks this. -
That payout is like that 45,90 etc except its 45 days after the "contract" is signed you get the first payment. The rest are based of the first payout date. Meaning 90 after first payment you get the 2nd installment. And so on.
Bonus is usuallly board, division, account specific.
