Realtime; how much experience do you have? I hired on with SNI the first of the year. They were taking only experienced drivers at that time. One of the guys in orientation had 6 months, and they took him.

So far, I'm happy with them. They put me on the HomeRun program, picking my trucks up in Woodhaven. Out 2 weeks, and home one. I lucked into that. It works good for me, but I don't make as much as if I stayed out 3 weeks, and home 2-3 days.

Maybe I'm a bit naive, but I don't feel I've been lied to yet, and feel I'm treated very well. One thing I've noticed. There are a lot of drivers that have been there years and years, a good sign to me. 2 of the carriers I've been with, that has been a rarity.

Don't get wrong, they're not perfect, but if you have questions or problems, ask. But only do that Mon-Fri during the day. Remember, I said they're not pefect?

If you're still interested, PM me, I'll tell you who I dealt with to get in.:biggrin_25525:

schneider is in slash and burn mode. there were just 150 drivers layed off in the carlisle/harrisburg pa area, down to 7k moving trucks, and have our pick of drivers to replace the turn over. trucking is not good to get into right now and with 6 months exp you can put your app in but dont hope for to much (i would throw in an app because you might end up getting one of the few spots sni is hireing for they can only tell you no)

Yeah, what hector said. I just found out what he mentioned. BUT, still call and find out what they have to say. Since this, like most companies, is an "at will" employer, who knows what could be going on.

If you call, please post what you find out. Maybe I should be thinking of another job as well!:biggrin_25525:

sni is still hiring in certian areas of the country (dont know exactly where those are but know they are) so if your looking the oll phrase "Throw abunch of #### on the wall and see what sticks" applies. while any preventable accident will now get you fired (yes any preventable from what ive been told) sni is still a good company.

I will state as far as companies go, despite my seething deep hatred of them for personal issues, they seem to be a well run org. They lie. But they all lie.

They have their stuff together, their OCs are easy to get into, repairs are generally issue to get done, they have free wifi, atms, most of their terminals have cafes, their equipment is ok, and they seem to be stick up the butt about safety.

They care about getting loads there on time, far more then Werner too. I would recommend them to anyone whom is good at following rules but they are picky on who they hire.

Conway underbid Schneider on a Sears account (Carlisle)

= it's getting very cut-throat out there and I'm assuming many are running into the red. Schneider will cut back and lean out the fleet running the Columbias to the bone (1,000,000 mile+) and stating away from the Cascadia or ProStar. 2010?
    =We are talking FeightShaker here.

SNI is definitely is the cut and burn mood. 30% of the drivers were also released out of Deerhaven/Detroit OC. Many for the stupidiest reasons.
It all part of scaling the fleet down. Some of the first targeted are anyone with the slightest incident on record. this was to keep insurance rates down.

They main corporate does hire high school kids to run dispatch. they have no knowledge of the 70 hour/ 14/11 rules. So your guarenteed, after finishing a run at 11:30 Am and you notify them by quallcomm that you have 7 hours left to run, You will get an assignment to be somewhere at 9pm.

Another way they like to keep cost down. To help cut back on layover pay, that little gift of pay after you sit for over 24 hours without moving.
the DBL's, (high school kids) are instructed to keep the drivers moving. Yea, ok...so after you sit at an OC like Indianapolis, IN with the worst food possible for 22 hours, You will be dispatch to grab an empty and run it 30 miles to a lot and drop it. with pickup/dropoff trailor, and traffic. A 2 hour job for $7.80 pay.

Yes, they have a pricky attitude about safety and they can have the greatest gameplan of smooth operations, but all that means squat when you have a few monkeys in key locations that run it.
