Big orange trailers suck, tandems dont like to slide

also because they smell like a skunks poop shoot.

Re: Schneider Fired

What are you mad about? Is it because the trailers are orange, the tandems don't slide easy, or because they woudn't hire you?

Re: Schneider Fired

I'm not a big fan of them either. I did my one year for them ten years ago and left. I just wanted to know more about the reason he's so mad.

Your beef about sliding the tandems tells me you are a little green. NO tandem "likes" to slide under a loaded trailer but there are tricks to accomplish the task without a lot of trouble. You'll learn...

"Skunks poop shoot"?!?

You want a cool tool to use for tandem sliding: [LINK POSTED BY MEMBER] Only Members Can View This Truck Forum Link.

I don't have one since we don't slide tandems on tanks but I saw a guy demo how it works on his van. Very nice indeed.

The button is about the nicest if the spring brakes hold, have only seen them on a few vans but on lots of refrigerated.

I've had the spring brakes fail to hold enough for a slide, but a couple of chocks (or even rocks, blocks, etc) will work....
One of the best "lubes" for dry slide rails is dishwashing soap IMO....

Well I can't say my experience with them was all that bad. first 6 months was great, Had a good STL and had a great rep-or. I made her agree to get me over 3000 miles a week and only 1 time did she fail to do that. Well she ran off and married some nerd and I ended up with some d*** head STL. After several big arguments with this guy he finally got my miles up and even told me a few tricks that I had not already learned about the company. But we still continued to butt heads often. I left after a year (that was 3 years ago) Just to experience what else was out there. To tell you the truth old Sni was not really that bad. Pretty much always had a preplan. Hardly ever sat anywhere for very long. Pay was not the best but they did keep me moving.

Far as the trailers go, If you cant figure out how to get tandems to slide then the issue is not with the trl but perhaps you lack a little mechanical ability. Sure some get pretty stuck sometimes but 99% of the time it should not take more then 2 minutes tops. always walk back when sliding tandems with a hammer, after pulling lever do a quik run around and check to make sure pins are in, if not hit them. Heck USX trl I had one time had spring loaded pins, I went to pull the lever and 3 out of 4 pin springs busted. Spent the next 20 minutes or so walking around trying to get 2 pairs of vise grips cause I only had 1 in my tool box.

Had a Celadon TRL that would not slide. Started to back up about 10 mph and throw on the TRL brakes and it still would not slide. Borrowed 4X4 from a Flatbed driver choked the wheels and Still would not slide. used 4 Cans of WD40 Still would not slide. adjusted all the slack adjuster to lock all the breaks still would not slide. Took it to a Shop, They had to take a torch and heat the dang thing and finally they got it to slid.

So I'm sure you really haven't seen the worst with Sni
