I'm a solo driver, smoker, NOT willing to team, live in north AR but willing to drive a reasonable distance (150mi or so) for the right job.

2 years exp. dry van, 2 weeks exp. reefer. Liked reefer, but it was a team job that didn't work out. Don't mind running produce. Like it, in fact. Don't mind grocery warehouses, either.

Prefer to run the western 11, DETEST the east coast, but willing to run coast-to-coast if there is no NYC. Would like to work for a company with <100 trucks. Willing to stay out 3-4 weeks.

2 tickets, both at the same time, in July '08. Unsafe lane change and failure to signal. (Signal was broken, changed lanes in front of a cop and it ticked him off.) Unfortunately, due to a clerical error, the "unsafe lane change" was entered into the DMV computer as a "reckless driving". This has been cleared up and I have a letter of correction from the judge, but the TX DMV is taking their sweet time correcting my MVR.

1 ding on my DAC, rookie mistake, got stuck in the mud and required a tow 3ft to get me out.

What I expect: Decent, maintained equipment (I'm a driver, not a mechanic). To be paid when I'm supposed to be paid, with no excuses. To not have to sit and wait for fuel money. Paid lumpers.

What I give in return: 11 hours of driving a day. On-time pick-up and delivery. 20 years of CS experience, which helps a lot when dealing with shippers and receivers. Equipment that doesn't come back beaten and battered.

I'm not an employer but I'd be worried that you'd be unable to cope with going with the flow if real life ever happened. Though nothing you've said sounds unreasonable or extraordinary.

I raised 3 kids by myself. I've spent the last 40 years "going with the flow" and don't have a problem coping with it. But I expect an honest day's pay for an honest day's work without someone trying to screw me out of it, and the tools (read: a truck that's not held together with duct tape and bungees) to do that work. I don't think that's so much to ask, do you?

Until that wreckless driving ticket is removed your chances are slim. Its just the truth. I hope you find work soon.

Just a piece of advice, take it or leave it. I would leave out the word DETEST when describing your willingness to run it regardless. As an employer, I would feel that I am giving you a job that you may end up really, really not liking.

I appreciate that you are putting it all out there. I think that if you find a job it will work out perfectly. Good luck in your hunt!
