Thanks guys for the info.

I have not gone to apply in person, I have applied online and then followed up on the phone.
The replies I received were either not hiring in my area or need more experience.

Here is the list, maybe this can help someone else as well.

JB Hunt- Not enough experience
Gordon- Not enough experience
Arrow- Not enough experience
Heartland- Not enough experience
Schneider- Not enough experience
CR England- Not enough experience
US Express- Not enough experience
USA Truck- Not enough experience
Prime- Not enough experience
May- Not enough experience
TMC- Out of hiring area
First Fleet- Not enough experience
Trans Am- Out of hiring area
CRST Van- Out of hiring area
Central refrigerated- Not enough experience
ATS- Out of hiring area
FFE- Out of hiring area

The ones I am waiting to hear back from
Pride
J-Mar
SLT- tried calling a few times
McKelvey
Knight
Con Way
Heritage
Western States Petroleum
Gemini
Swift
M Bjorn Peterson

Most of them I spoke to or left a message for.

This is the list I have since I started writing them down over the weekend.

Do you think it makes much difference going down there vs. on the phone? Like I mentioned before some of these companies operate out of a corporate office.

Thank you again for taking the time to help!

Larz

Hey Larz, Mabe if you took a CDL refresher, a lot of guys out of trucking for a couple years have to do that in order to get hired, Im looking into now, most of the schools that give the cdl class will also give a brief, (40 hour) refresher. Just a thought, as you will probably start out at rookie pay anyway.

Hi Ike,

I have thought of that but don't have the funds for it.

CR England can get me into their refresher course. It is $1400, $100 up front and payroll deduct the rest.

Thanks, I guess if I want to get back into trucking this might be a way I have to go.

Wow, why not check with a local community college, I bet it would be a lot cheaper, Chances are with england you'll be an indentured servant.

I hope it works out for ya, I know what its like to wanna get back out there.

So the reason for my post here. If you are or know someone looking for a driver, or someone to team with them, look no further.

I drove OTR in the early 90's, then got off the road due to family responsibilities. Well the kids are grown now and I need a job.

Willing to run whatever is needed.

I have had my CDL A for 21 years, and have all the endorsements.

No tickets or accidents, clean DAC. Do not need benefits.

I am OK with hard work. I have Van, Flat, Tanker, Reefer experience.

In anyone is interested, please contact me. I am near Phoenix, AZ so obviously someone near there would be better for home time.

Take care, Larz

there was another thread somewhere about CR England scamming drivers out of $1400 for the privilege of working for them.....then they try to steer you into their fleece option scam. hell - you used to be able to take the entire course at a community college for $600!!! and conway is only hiring teams right now. if you wanted solo, you can cross them off your list.

Another company I just thought of in Phx. Michael Most, kind of like Peterson, so-so equipment. I would be applying in person, but that's just my style. I want results NOW, not possibly later. Also in Tucson, a company called Tucson Transport.
