My brother in law knows a guy in the milk industry and it was looking like that might be the way to go, but he said there is a hiring freeze right now.

Well I am just about ready to give up. The list is getting longer and longer. Today I went to a Temp Agency, after filling out an app online they said they could get me driving. Whew I thought, finally!!!

Well I get down there, go through about 2 hours of stuff, then they tell me you do not have enough recent experience. (My last time driving was May, 2006- Dec. 22 2006). They said you need to have 3 months in the last 3 years to get hired. I said are you serious? I am missing this by a week?

So I left out of there pissed that over 2 hours was wasted. But... while I was there it seemed like a couple of guys were going through to drive OTR.

Now here is the funny part. One guy had a DUI 6 years ago and a ticket 5 years ago, another guy had a bunch of stuff as well, yet they got through as far as I know, they went further then I did.

It just does not make sense. I have a clean license, I have experience hauling a lot of different things, yet because it is more then 3 years ago, it doesn't count. Like I am going to forget how to drive. BUT it is OK to have tickets and DUI on your record.

It is times like this that I see why we as a nation are in the situation we are in. Companies are being run and controlled by the wrong people.

OK that is my rant.

They said you need 3 months driving in the last 3 years and you drove from May '06 to Dec '06, isn't that within the last 3 years? Backtrack from Oct '09 to Oct '06 (3 years) and you should qualify, right? Am I missing something?

I drove May 25, 2006 to Dec. 22, 2006. This is October 6, so they are going by the day as well.

Hey Larz, look at Auto Zone distribution there in Phx. They run to retail stores, not sure how far out they go, see them here in Kingman all the time coming/going to Vegas. Volvo sleeper, Cascadias. Unload with a liftgate, pallet jack. Can you say "piece of cake"? Also McLane Distribution (Goodyear) runs to Vegas, San Diego, couple days out, 1 day home, couple more, then home 2. Team operation, EZ unload, good $$$$.

I applied to Auto Zone when they were looking, but hired someone already. I did speak with the transportation manager many times though and he has my app.
I will look into McLane as well, but I think I might have something. I should know tomorrow.

I saw a ad for mclane just last week. there a few ads on craiglist right now.

I looked at those ads and they all want recent experience, which I do not have.

I do have a few things getting close though. I went on a road test this morning with a local company.

Also something else running team, and one other running solo that I was just pre approved for today, so hopefully I should know something very soon.

The first one that comes along is the one I am going to go with.

I looked at hundreds of companies. The ones that are close now I would rather not say until I get hired by one of them, I do not want to jinx myself. LOL
