How can that be? You actually live within the hiring parameters... At least within 20 miles of it.

It's borderline. If you read the policy to the letter, I am outside of the hiring area...but real darn close.

Anyone in here live in South Ga area? i am looking at team driving as an option. Right now Schneider is my best choice. I did my initial training and with them and then ran about 90 days OTR Solo with them with only 2 home visits for 3 days each.

I had a team partner lined up but his dumb *** got a DUI so now I am back to nothing til I can find someone or find another option. Anyone with trucks around these parts able to help I would love to hear from you.

6+ years ex navy with police and corrections officer background, perfect driving and criminal background, no wife, no kids, no pets, looking to get out and drive with someone so I can save for my own truck sometime in the distant future.

Any offers would be appreciated.

Thanks for the PM

I have a shade over 3 months Solo OTR pulling Van with the pumpkin truck company. In the time I was driving Solo I logged a little over 21k miles. My grandfather had a heart attack and I had to be home more often and they couldn't make that happen.

I left the right way though and I am still in "rehire" status with them but they aren't hiring anything but teams and independents out of my area currently.

If you have something to offer PM me again with a way to get in touch with you please, I am not up to 50 posts as of yet so I am unable to reply.

Thanks. Gary.

Yep, I wish it were more. The problem I am finding out now is that with only 3 months OTR I am labeled "inexperienced" and due to the fact that I already have a CDL I don't qualify for student programs of most companies. Swift offered me a Solo Job but orientation wouldn't be able to scheduled til January and I will be homeless before then so that won't work. Schneider, whom I trained with and got my CDL through said they would honor their training and rehire me and that process has begun but it is dependent on finding a team partner that lives in my area before that can be done.

Since I left Schneider back on October of 2007 my driver manager has since moved on to be a terminal manager with another company. He has called our old supervisors at Schneider and tried to get the to rehire me and allow me to pickup where I left off (with some time with a trainer of course for refresher) but they aren't hiring solo drivers this far south at this time.

I didn't want to quit and my driver manager tried whatever he could to get me to stay on but it just didn't work out in the end. But when you an immediate family emergency like I had home time isn't a luxury, it's a necessity. So I finished out the out time I was on and then turned in my truck. I could have walked away like some other boneheads out there and left my truck where it was parked but I am a better dude than that.
