For the second time this year I had a major delay at JBSwift Marshalltown, IA.
A simple 280 mile run turns into 13 hours detention waiting on the product in a dirt parking lot that looks like an Iraqi war zone with all the potholes.
You'd think after all these years in business they would know how to schedule and load a trailer. If they ain't late, they overload you.
Detention pay is good though.
I'm mad because I'm suppose to be halfway to Florida by now. I have to reschedule because of them. Company told me to drop in a yard in Chicago and grab an empty for my next PU. I get there another driver is pulling the last empty out. :smt071

This is quite possibly the worst meathouse I have ever picked up at. Somehow, 8 hours after drop dead is ok to them. I have yet to hear about something being on time coming out of Marshalltown.

That place is a cesspool. The only time we load out of there anymore is when it is a customer pick up and the guidelines for detention pay are crystal clear. I kinda dig that when you walk into the guardhouse that your vision has a yellow tint to it from the light reflecting off of the cigarette smoke stained walls & ceiling, very classy.

I have three bad places that stick in my memory. This is one of them.

Every time I go there I expect a 34 hour reset waiting for the trl to get ready. Loads never out in time and not a good place to go wait at.

I am currently at the JBS in Greely Colorado and I am still waiting for my container 9 hours after my appointment time. Weekend dispatch told me to drive the graveyard to get the load to the Port of Oakland ontime, not happening.

I picked up a container in Marshalltown the other day and it was actually ready ontime. That mandatory $25 trailer inspection is a scam though.

I have to agree with you guys on this. I don't haul refer outa there but tanker. Everytime I go in there nothing but bob tails against the fence. Can't understand how they can have x amount of loads and not know they need x amount of pigs to fill the trailers. A friend of mine used to pull trailers out of there and they were notorious for overloading. I swear I saw a guy fishing in one of the holes in the parking lot!

I actually had a load at JBS Marshalltown that was ready EARLY......but that was because they weren't working the next day......and, of course, I was out of hours and couldn't leave with it.
