You need to hang out down there and see who does. But they may use brokers or fleets like Swift etc.

They supply the locals like "Do it best".... a competitor for Ace. There's a big D.C. in Houston and has their own trucks.

And of interest......there's an ad in today's paper here for T/T hardware drivers by Averitt..... new bus. they say. Could be my last statement of old knowledge is no longer true and Handy has farmed it out........

"Do it Best" has a DC here in Waco and have their own tractor/trailers. The pay was very low, starting at .23 with a year experience. :biggrin_2554:

    They have a website.
Say they run their own trucks, and loads are "fingerprint".

    Also,
Went to the whse last night and spoke with security.
There is a "new company" that built across the road and hauls for them.

    Anyone know TRANS POWER ???
    Gray/Silver Trucks.

    Never heard of them before.

Seen one today...they use like a blue "tote" of sorts and stack 'em on a dolly, run 'em down the ramp etc. Kinda looks like Martin Brower at McDonalds.

Lots of tote boxes in hardware. Some light weight, some not. Lots of rolls of barb wire, fencing, cases of nails, paint, pipe, ect. Most places have no docks.

Go to Home Depot, then think about what it takes to peddel that stuff to maybe 10-15 different stores every trip, in temps ranging from freezing to Amazon hot.

They do use outside carriers from time to time. I met with the manager in Houston a few years back. The issue is you need to carry a pallet jack on your trailer to unload and it's gonna be multi stop freight.
