Re: I Hate Walmart!!!!!

I know what you mean about Wal-mart, and I came into this post late but I am curious? you said you were getting paid for the all day sitting... Does your company pay for lay over? in most cases lay over pay is more money then a measaly detention pay. My company pays lay over if you go over 8 hours sit time. It might be worth asking about. Good luck

Re: I Hate Walmart!!!!!

I got my $16/hr detention pay, but it messes you up.

Just today, I show up at a nestle, FIRST THROUGH THE GATE AT 0530 for a 0600 appt. Left there at 1330. This caused me to not be able to get a drop and will end up costing me a day of sitting due to this.

See what sitting did was cause me to not be able to drive far today, causing me to be able to just make a drop location by 1400 tomorrow. I would only have 1hr left to drive after the drop, instead of the 4-5 I should have had if the shiper had me out of there in 2-3 hours. This caused me to be ineligible for the load they needed moved.

Will get a 34 reset, so I can run, but a bird in the hand would have been better.

SHIPPERS AND RECIEVERS SUCK!!!

Re: I Hate Walmart!!!!!

I've had alot of dealings with Wal-Mart. In my opinion their empoyees are the must "over worked and underpaid" individuals around. They don't get in a hurry for ANYTHING most of the time.

walmart today, in Mississippi.

1hr from driveway to window. 25min in line at gate. 10min dock. 25min in line at window.

Luckly I hit the driveway 1.5hrs early, or I may have been marked late.

1000 Go in to see [edit] if they have paperwork. Was told not done they would give me an estimate over the radio.

1200 no Estimate given, go BACK IN. SAME BS TALK, WE WILL CHECK! Now they try to explain to me that it is 5500 cases.....well yes 5500 cases, only 10 different items, and NOT on MIXED pallets. Heavy product so stacked low, no need for Breakdown.

1300 still nothing!!!!!!!!

This is ridiculous and uncalled for. Why wont OOIDA and ATA combat excessive waits at shippers.

1415 nothing.......

i get detention after 2.... whats the prob?

I have delivered to several Walmart DC's and have as of yet to have one single delivery go right.

It takes forever to get through the guardshack only to be told to dock, dolly down, and disconnect.

Now, Walmart will not accept you more than an hour early. So if they take 45 minutes checking the 3 trucks before you, you better hurry! Now you have to dock and disconnect. Then you go to the window. Now I have never been able to just walk up to the window and hand them my paperwork. Usually there is one driver or two ahead of me.

They COMPLETELY process the drivers papers before they get to me! I have been "window late" even though I stood there for 30 minutes waiting on the receiving crew to call me up.

The next time you go to a Walmart, look at what you are signing. Usually mine say my load was done within 2 hours. The funny part is it takes them 5 hours to call me on the CB.

The last Walmart load I delivered said my paperwork was ready at the window 20 minutes before it was. I stood there watching, and waiting, so I know when it got there. I refused to sign when they told me to.
