Raafi is a jewel in the roughRaafi is a jewel in the roughRaafi is a jewel in the roughRaafi is a jewel in the rough
interesting

my country wont allow me back into my own country unless i can prove i live in my own country by a national ID card

sounds like east berlin..........SHOW ME YOUR PAPERS!!!

though i understand the need to have it, its just that we seem to have started slipping down that slippery slope

and its not going to change any time soon

case in point, when we go make a delivery of bolts, we have to show OUR PAPERS to the security guard, who sometimes makes a copy, because in the interest of national security and the security of the shipper, we must verify who is dropping off these bolts,

and when i go to buy a pack of peanuts, i have to show the cashier my id

and when i do this and do that, my id is everywhere

NOW we have to worry about ID theft

whats next?

Why don't you all understand it's the bad people that made the world come to this and showing your ID should not be "such" a "big deal" unless you feel that "person" would violate your rights. I doubt many of them are trying to violate you, I bet many are told by their boss to ask for this information and only require it for your's and my sake so please lets give them who request it a break and be NICE!
Sorry just my humble opinion

aawwww those poooor people .... are you serious?
the fact of the matter is that no-one should ever have to let some window worker make a copy of thier drivers license because it is too easy to steal someones identity with this information and rack up a huge credit debt in somone elses name.
that should be common sense

Who are you calling a xxxxx NOOB? You should really take a step back before you start calling names to a senior member and one that has provided more information to this board than you could ever imagine.

USA What's everyone so worried about??....

World War 3 is just around the corner anyway. Let yourself be free and live a little. Go out and smoke 8 at a time. Drink till you pass out next to a train track. Play chicken with a train entering the station, etc, etc, eyc.

They ask you for ID??? Really???? Never ever heard of this one. No way I'd let them photocopy it. Nope. That's unreasonable. You're driving the company truck (unless you're an O/O) so that should be good enough. If they want to verify you, they can call the employer.

Sheesh... don't know why they think they should be able to photocopy your license. They're not your employer.

It's really not that persons fault that you are saying is a "window worker" fault they even have to ask for your id. Do you think maybe some of 911 has much to do with this issue? Did you think maybe to many criminals coming in and claiming they work for someone when they don't and they still a load of freight? It's just the same when I have to show my ID for my credit card??? It's the world and the bad people that caused us to go through this hoop!

I am not taking up for any criminals, I am describing why many companies must do this. It's all a security thing and I agree with you to some extent but going off on someone that is only doing their job.

Sorry to have offended you

You have had to show ID to use your credit card?!?!?!!!! Why? That's the point of a signature, isn't it? Wow... that one's never happened to me.
