I was self employed before being a truck driver in direct customer service. I know all about the "customer is always right" deal.
That being said even then I had customers that I knew we would never see eye to eye and chose to part ways with. All of my written contracts had a clause stating that either party could cancel the contract with a 2 week notice for any reason.
I had one or two that I gave the money back for a project I had done and told them that we weren't going to be happy with each other, here was their money and to please not call me again.

Pro1 is right here. Frankly, that blows. But nonetheless the current situation is what it is, and until something changes at the Federal level, this will be so for some time to come. A driver simply has to leave property when ordered to, or risk an encounter with the local police for criminal trespass.

Now as Pro said, an O/O has a little more latitude here, and can simply decide to not deal with such people anymore. But a company driver has to go where he's told to.

No, no, no. I was simply attempting to back you up. The situations that were discussed here are unfortunate, but as I said, until something changes at the Federal level the status quo will persist.

Thanks a lot,PRo1driver. Now I know which company to avoid delivering to.BTW,Im an O/O also. Company drivers can also have some leeway by NOT driving for a carrier that miscommunicates their pickup and delivery time windows,especially when it involves an anal customer with a lack of parking.There is already a parking shortage across some areas of the country,thanks to the idiot truck stop operators that seem to believe that there is no parking shortage. I usually avoid any areas of the country or truckstops that are known to have parking shortages anyway.

then of course, you don't know my customer or where i work. however, if you ever do deliver to my customers place, and i'm the one that's kicking you out after your delivery because of the rules, i'll gladly offer my hand to you in congratulations in obeying my customers rules..........

I think insecurity has some thing to do with you not having very many friends.

Oh yes,I have an idea of who this customer is. As far as delivering there,NO THANKS.
