| "we're replaced by Foreigners willing to accept what WE will not. The time grows short!" Absolutely Correct! Americans are rapidly being replaced by foreigners in every industry in the U.S... even bill gates says "I have to wait 4-5 years for workers from india and china to obtain visas to fill high tech jobs in the U.S."... what the HELL!! I am sure I heard somewhere (U.S. elected crooks) that the reason we were dumping low tech jobs to mexico, china etc.. was that Americans were being trained for the high tech ones??... How much of the "Federal destruction of America" are we willing to take? Are we're going to have to go to the bottom before we start to look up?... Last edited by Martin97; 03.22.2007 at 02.07 PM. |

| It seems to me if a driver bust there butts to get a load there on time then recievers should bust there butts to unload. That way the drivers can get off there property on time. |

| If only You're right, Jack. But lots of dockworkers are union members. Are you? More than likely you're not. Join a union and start putting this problem of waiting at docks permanently to rest.

| No your right I am not union and if union people work like that I wouldn't be part of that Union. They have a job to do just like the truck driver so mabe they need to earn there pay. I am all new to this and I am pretty good guy but I have been around though and I know what is right and what is wrong. I will be friendly and ask nice about thing but that will go so, far if I don't see any action about shippers unloading my truck in timely fashion. I understand if there busy but I won't understand if there just sitting around and joking around. Yes I might ven get fire from my company that will be my least worry, I always believe people going step on you if you allow it I am just not that type a person to be step on. |

| But that's the reason they do the stepping The reason the dockworkers do the stepping is they're union and you're not, meaning you'll have to put up with it. Laziness is human nature, and we have to fight against it tooth and nail. You protect yourself and society in general when you don't allow someone else's laziness to become your problem. Collective bargaining is how you can help yourself a lot.

| whoa there TIP Quote:
alright, im not tryin to make anyone upset here but..... not all union members are lazy.....darn near everyone i know here in the IBEW locals 206 or 44 are anywhere near lazy Being a current local 206 member as a heavy equipment operator/ truck driver i know darn well better. My crew busts their butts for 8 months of the year to keep our customers happy, and it doesnt help when our job sheets come from the customer a month behind, neither does the 4 months of frozen weather we get in montana. So far as the dockmembers...i have no idea as i have never been assoited with them in either this job or when i was OTR. once again i AM not tryin to make anyone upset....just stating a fact that some unions bust thier butts |
