Shippers & Receivers - Good or Bad Load O' Freight That Just Can't Wait. Had a good or bad experience with a shipper or receiver? Discuss grocery warehouses, lumpers, and anything dealing with pickups or deliveries here. Does that shipper let you park and sleep? Does the receiver FORCE you to get a lumper?

Associated Grocers of NE in Pembroke, NH is a great receiver. I was a security officer for them for almost four years.
The lumper service is a pain but they will come out to the truck to wake you up.
Security will also wake you up before your appointment time, I got a three day vacation once for failing to wake a driver for his appointment.
They offer parking on the property from 3am Sunday to 4pm Saturday inside the gates and parking 24hrs outside the gate.
Eventually once Cooperative Way gets expanded to connect to rt3 and rt 28 theirs going to be a truck park and some 24hr restaurants on the street.
AGNE serves mom and pop markets and convinence store through out New England and parts of New York.

MY husband and I HATED delivering to Continential Freezers in Chicago. Appointment time was always 9:00 am. and we were never out of there until 5:00 or 6:00 pm. You go in at rush hour and come out at rush hour. It would take two lumpers three hours just to unload the trailer. They need a break every 15 minutes you know! We should get so lucky!!!

I agree with ya, all other shippers/recievers and their behaviour vary depending on which state or city or depending on their traffic. Walmart however almost always stable regardless of location or traffic, u know when u are getting a dock and u know when u are leaving. Not the fastest reciever or shipper but better than sometimes early and sometimes 9 hour detention. Also there is no rip off lumper charges. 50 $ thats it.
