You sure you weren't at a 3d party whse FOR Knause foods?

Loaded for and at most Knause facilities....and other than the fact they are ALL way out in the woods.....AND on everyside of Gettysburg..which is basically completely truck restricted....ive always been treated nicely and promptly both loading&delivering......so I'm hoping this is an anomoly&not gonna be a regular thing

This place is not driver friendly.
Not at all easy to count freight. But they refuse to accept SLC. In over 30-60 minutes to stand at window before they acknowledge a driver. Multiple trips back to the truck to get magic number which should have been in load assignment. Once they get the right magic number, they can't match the destinations. They can't keep a dock appointment. Many wasted hours for each driver. Suggest dropping this customer unless they can get their act together. Or unless our company is making an extreme profit from these guys, then just toss the driver a bonus for putting up with their crap. Also they take truck keys. Only reason any shipper does this is because they had a driver pull from the dock before they were done. But the only reason a driver would do that is if they did the driver wrong. Also, no over night parking after they rape your clock.

Allen Distribution. They are a 3rd party warehouse for Knouse Foods and yes, they have gone down hill over the years.

Thanx Double_R.......makes sence ......heard some stories about Allen.....no surprise.....we only deal w/frozen stuff for Knauss so always at one of the plants......

Great place for either close quarters training and stress management training, or a place for damaging property.
They were nice enough to have ZERO signage stating park off property for check in and several trucks have already run the guantlet negotiating getting out of the way for the ornery idiotic yard jock coming and going.
Barely enough room to do a 360, let alone 2, if your unlucky and pull on to property without an assigned door.
To leave and try again, even more fun.

I dealt with enough lousy Kroger DC's out here to where I refuse to ever shop there anymore. They're not all bad but enough of them are so no dice on shopping there ever again

Its ok man I aint skeered !!!! My lawyer,accountant, X IRS agent who enjoys putting these large corperations in their place said there is nothing they can do now as we walked out of the courtroom. Kinda like O.J. cant be charged with murdering his wife again. Even if he gets on tv and admitted to it. Its a done deal. I won and had the same eatin grin on my face O.J. did when the verdict was read. This has been so many years now the statue of limitations has run out anyhow...

Ya know that is just way beyond wrong, and if anyone finds out about it you could be in some serious trouble I would think!.....having a problem and getting the courts to solve it is one thing, to rip of anyone with faked documents is in no way for any reason even close to being ok.

Im sorry you feel that way Luv. I didnt feel bad for even the slightest second and i never will!!!! Im in this business to make money and nothing else. A contract is a contract and i met my end of it and they didnt. As it stands with all the miles and time that i put in to it all the only thing recived was getting a decent wage that i could have made hauling other freight rather than screwing around with these idiots. That truck and trailer sat for 3 weeks with a load on it (i was only reimbursed in storage fees that a warehouse would charge) I kept fuel in the reefer to keep the product from going bad ( which cost me money) Lawyers aint cheap ( he cost me money ) Spent 2 days in court ( which cost me money). The point is when i showed up at my appointment time and backed up to the dock. My job was done and my contract was met. These people brought this on themselves (by broker not wanting to pay the lumper fee and by wal mart for even trying to charge to unload their own freight) ...........

If your hubby went out and spent just under a million dollars on equipment, signed a contract to do a job with it with one person or company. Completed that job, and was then told by another person from another company that he had to give them a cut of that money. Would he pay it like the rest of the sheep or would he fight to keep what is rightfulley his??????????????

If these wanna be supertrucking low freight rate grocery haulers dont grow any balls and stand up for themselves all they are ever gonna be is a sheep and they are gonna do what everyone else does. Which is mostly whine about how much it cost them to unload , how long they had to wait , how they aint making any money( because they leased on to someone who only pays so much a mile) , How long they have to be away from home just to make a little money, Etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.

Im sorry but i cant be a sheep and i learned long time ago that i have to fight for what is mine and after that fight im gonna keep it!!!!!!!!

And by the way that broker is out of business ( probably back in business under another name jacking someone else around) And im still here doing it my way and charging more money than ever.....

I am serious there is no way I would have stayed that long. But because every one does what they (shippers) says they have to with out a fight then the shippers have no incentive to change their nonsense ways.

H.E.B in San Antonio TX. Had two run ins with the same unpleasant receiving clerk there. The first time my directions sent me to the wrong building, so he was mad because I was late. It didn't matter that I was at the wrong building. Blew it off, and hoped never to go there again.

Second time, I was on time, right building, but stuck at the guard shack behind a rig whose driver locked his keys in the truck. Couldn't go around in the other lane because it was full of trucks too. Soon as I could I got over and went around. Mr Mad was in full force, tells me to back into door whatever, well, when I get in there, someone comes out and tells me, "No, you have to move to door XX, we gave that door away." Nevermind that the door I was in is the one he told me to back into less than ten minutes before. So I pull out and go to the second door, back in, and go inside. Told him I was going to unload myself, asked where the hand jack was, only to be told "You can't unload that trailer, it's too heavy for you (paper towels), hire a lumper." ( I should probably point out that I am a short female). Needless to say, I was infuriated, but left the dock after hiring one of their "fleecers" to unload all those heavy paper towels without tearing someone's head off or muttering one cross word. The funny thing was, I was a warehouse worker for over eight years before I started driving trucks, and I've hauled pallets repeatedly over an eight or twelve hour period weighing almost three thousand pounds. If we were short on forklifts, you used the hand jack all shift, no matter how heavy the skids were. I think he just didn't want me to unload cuz he knew I'd be done quicker than his freakin lumpers and make them look bad.

Don't they just piss ya off ? If I hated my job as badly as some of them seem to do, I wouldn't even bother going to work. You're probably right. You would have unloaded that truck faster and more efficiently than their lumper AND he wouldn't have gotten his cut.

The last time I refused to use a lumper service and do it myself , they made certain I was there all day long by not bringing me pallets or checking the merchandise in in a timely fashion. The lumper wanted $250 to take 10 boxes of off the top of 24 skids... creating 26 skids. Ridiculous, I wouldn't pay it. Oh ! I paid for it.
