The WORST Shippers and Receivers - Truckers WILL NOT Buy Their Products!

Who are the WORST shippers and receivers out there? Who should truckers and their families NOT EVER buy products from?

My Vote?

FOOD LION (http://www.foodlion.com/)

I despise Food Lion and they HAVE made me unsafe on the freeways and I HAVE driven unsafe AND tired because of them!

Who will YOU not use because they make our highways UNsafe due to their practices with truckers?

Rubber Maid North East OH

I have loaded out of there twice. The first time was back in early 90's for PST Vans. The load took 6 1/2 hrs to unload with 2 lumpers there were new product some of the same stuff that was on the back the rest of that product was in the front. The second time I unloaded very early in the morning in Akron and headed to the Niles, OH terminal to get some work done on my truck. I think the AC konked out or something. Anyhow I droped the truck off and was headed home to take my break when I got a call from my dispacher. She told me I had to go back and get my truck and hurry over to rubbermaid to pick up a HOT load. Well I got there and it was EXACTLY 14hrs before my load was read. Now as my dispacher told me my appt. time was loke 10 am. I pulled out of there after midnight. That hot load got cooled off in a hurry cuz my truck went back to the shop. OH and yes Food Lion does suck !

Wal-Mart They tried to sue me over a load of potatoes they refused to unload unless i gave them $60. After waiting a very long time i went home with the potatoes. My contract with the broker never stated anything about lumper fee. On court day everyone was there. Turned out my case was dismissed the broker had to file a claim under his insurance to pay for the potatoes plus pay my freight bill, storage fee, and dump fee after i showed a receipt from the county landfill for 45,000 pounds at 35 dollars a ton. The receipt was for a load my friend took to the landfill in his dump wagon and i sold the potatoes at the market in atlanta to first guy that had $5000 cash. If these people want to make interstate commerce a game, Im gonna play to win!!!!!!!! Needless to say i went back to flatbeddin after that load..........

I believe I would have left that part of the story out.

Anheuser-Busch in Williamsburg kept me over 12 hours once to unload an incoming load, and reload an outgoing. I have never been there under 6 hours.

H.E.B in San Antonio TX. Had two run ins with the same unpleasant receiving clerk there. The first time my directions sent me to the wrong building, so he was mad because I was late. It didn't matter that I was at the wrong building. Blew it off, and hoped never to go there again.

Second time, I was on time, right building, but stuck at the guard shack behind a rig whose driver locked his keys in the truck. Couldn't go around in the other lane because it was full of trucks too. Soon as I could I got over and went around. Mr Mad was in full force, tells me to back into door whatever, well, when I get in there, someone comes out and tells me, "No, you have to move to door XX, we gave that door away." Nevermind that the door I was in is the one he told me to back into less than ten minutes before. So I pull out and go to the second door, back in, and go inside. Told him I was going to unload myself, asked where the hand jack was, only to be told "You can't unload that trailer, it's too heavy for you (paper towels), hire a lumper." ( I should probably point out that I am a short female). Needless to say, I was infuriated, but left the dock after hiring one of their "fleecers" to unload all those heavy paper towels without tearing someone's head off or muttering one cross word. The funny thing was, I was a warehouse worker for over eight years before I started driving trucks, and I've hauled pallets repeatedly over an eight or twelve hour period weighing almost three thousand pounds. If we were short on forklifts, you used the hand jack all shift, no matter how heavy the skids were. I think he just didn't want me to unload cuz he knew I'd be done quicker than his freakin lumpers and make them look bad.
Glad I'll never see THAT place again.

the very worst reciever i had ever been to was the BJ's warehouse PA, just over the New Jesey line, on Airport Rd. i can't remember the city right now though.

i got their with thier product mind you, but because there wasn't any "bar-code" on the items, they would not accept delivery. the dockworker said, they don't know if its lobsters or pickles or computers (they were black Rubbermaid waste baskets by the way, which could be plainly seen).

they all took off for lunch. i was trying to ask someone what time they would come back, and each and every single "A" whole would just walk right by me, totally ignoring me. even the security guard at the gate when i first showed up had an attitude problem. i'm thinking i'm in trucker's h3ll........

they simply refused to unload that trailer and told me to leave. i called my company and they said to bring the load down to the company terminal in VA, and if they want their load, they will now have to pay double the amount it would have originally cost.

my boss back home said if that were to ever happen again, to just start dumping the stuff onto the ground.

we never went back to that warehouse after that.............

Ya know that is just way beyond wrong, and if anyone finds out about it you could be in some serious trouble I would think!.....having a problem and getting the courts to solve it is one thing, to rip of anyone with faked documents is in no way for any reason even close to being ok.

Menards in the Holland/Zeeland Michigan area.

Over a 4 hr wait to side unload a flatbed with pallets of stone. Easy work. I was furious by then as you might imagine because I had another load that had to be loaded that day. When I asked the manager what his major malfunction was he said he just hadn't FELT like unloading me. Even tho there were other trucks coming and going that arrived AFTER me.

I never went back to that one, and have since unloaded at other Menards that were not nearly as bad. One thing I did learn from a shipper to Menards is to park in about as much way as you can. They'll unload you just to get you out of the way. They unload the incoming product in the same area as where the customers are picking up their bought product and as you might guess the truck driver DOES NOT take priority. Getting in a lot of way and slowing down a customer might **** them off, hence the hurry to unload a truck that is in the way.

There has been more than one person busted on a "secret" on the internet. The world is indeed a small place when it comes to the internet.
