FYI for anyone who pulls a reefer and hasn't been to Versacold Gouldsboro PA lately

They changed their unloading policy about two weeks back. Drivers are no longer allowed to use their juice jacks - pump jacks only

Also new requirements to submit your driver's license for photocopying, and a driver's sign-in log at the Office

The worst news of all is the arrival of new lumper company. Same workers, but they're all wearing orange sweatshirts now, with a Corporate logo (can't remember the name offhand) on the back. Lumper supervisors/schedulers are now all Latino. The easygoing former supervisor is still there, but he's obviously been demoted and he is Definitely not happy about that and other changes as well

FWIW the new supervisor/schedulers are arrogant pricks.....

Since I'm on good terms with a few of the workers, I managed to get a little bit of inside info from one of them during a carefully timed Q&A, during a smoke break. The workers were promised a slight raise - hadn't kicked in yet, at the time I had this conversation - by the new management. No idea if the fees went up

Go figure....no more juice jacks....way to scam a driver.

Photocopy DL....I think not...They can kiss my a** They can get a co ID or copy down my trk lic plate. I would never let a shipper or reciever copy my personal info......

versacold, every location has asked to see my drivers license, I will show it to them, but I will not let them copy it, and was promptly told I had to leave. My company backed me up, and one hour later I was in the dock being unloaded. They are going to far with this identification check.

I figure as long as I know who I am, ---
that's all that really matters.
I'll just introduce myself.

I guess I don't have to tell you to NEVER NEVER pay for a lumper out of your own pocket.....unless you enjoy subsidizing the rich white boys (well, they're richer than YOU) who are working in the offices wearing starched shirts and ties

Thats a little BS there...Why does it have to be "white boys" I have been to docks befor that were owned by Black,Asian,Mexican that have no trouble in ripping off drivers and lumpers.

How do you know if a load is "sort and segregate"? Is it on the BOL or another form?
