With a few exceptions, every Target DC I have ever dealt with has been a catastrphe as far as wait times go.

Brand new one in Rialto, CA. going on 4 hours past my appt time as we speak...and they still havent touched the truck.

Lake City, FL...Guaranteed an almost 4 hour ordeal normally, unless you are the very first truck that they unload at 0500.

Oh yeah, no idling, and dont show up early.

Funny thing is, the one in Phoenix that closed would let you in early and unload you fast...ditto with Fort Worth, before they moved and rebuilt it.

Walmarts are getting a lot worse too, at least the ones I have dealt with. 3 hours past appt times to empty a partial trailer.

I use to run a dedicated target account. The DC for target that I ran out of would break down each pallet and then count each individual product and then put it away then do the next one. That have to count every item on every pallet before putting it away.

    DTP Thanks this.

I'm glad they have so much money to throw away on detention pay...

Actually even detention pay is really just a 3rd place trophy for getting screwed...no amount of money replaces wasted time.

Delivered a lot of candy loads to the Target DC in Midlothian. In the load assignment remarks it said to plan for a 10 hour break at the DC. We would unhook and go park out in the back of the parking lot and the shag driver would bring the trailer when done. It was usually around the 10 hour mark when that happened. It was nice to know that before going in.

Guess things have changed a whole lot. Every Target DC load I ever did was strictly drop and hook. But that was a long time ago. . .

Ran dedicated for the Lake City FL dc for 3 years. It's grocery work. Have yet to run reefer where I wasn't treated like garbage.

Oh and by the way: Watch out for gators in the Huddle House parking lot across the street. Last one I saw was 8+ feet.

When the dirt lot next to Huddle House was still open, I staggered out of my truck at about 2AM one night to thump my tires. I walk towards the back of the trailer and heard this hissing. This little guy was only about 4ft long, but still big enough to scare the &=>\ out of me. I had never seen one in he wild, let alone that up close. Needless to say I was wide awake for a few hours.

Got the same thing at a walgreens DC. It was the end of a long day anyway and getting paid a couple hundred extra bucks to sleep was fine with me so I took the load.

Target DC, always planned on getting at least an 8 hour sleeper berth while waiting to be unloaded...

Even when I took in a whole load of clementines, 24 pallets of 1 item, 1 pack size... still took 6 hours...
