Thumbs up Barretts Minerals -- Good Shipper, almost

Picked a load up from these guys this week, in Barretts, MT Don't bother looking, they ain't on the map LOL.

After sitting for 6 hours...yup 6 and still saying they're a good shipper.

Load had a deliver by 13:30 on Monday. The receiver has a 14:00 cut off time. I had told them earlier I could make it, but it would be tight. Well, 6 hours took the "tight" right out of it, and turned it into impossible.

Called the girl in charge of shipping the next morning, explained what happened. She said give her a call back in about an hour...bingo. Appointment reset for 07:00 Tuesday, with 4 hours detention

Yeh, the 6 hour load time sucked. But I got detention and the 2600 miles the load pays, without having to give it to another driver. And, they helped make it happen. So I have to say they're a good company

Infection...

Do they ship talc like the place in Dillon, MT???

If so -- just a warning to those picking up at talc mines...

IF they don't have your load at the dock and INSIST that you drive into the mine...

MAKE SURE YOU GET PROPER BREATHING MASKS before going in...

I didn't and ended up with a NASTY bronchial infection...

Otherwise -- it was a decent load...

And Danc694u -- I'm glad it worked out for you in a FAIR manner -- I wouldn't say that they did you any FAVORS...

I ALWAYS EXPECT FAIR...

Barretts in Barrett MT?

Hi Danc694U,
Headed South on the freeway outside of Dillon Mt., is their plant (Talc) on the left hand side against the hill?
Interesting reading if it is on the web.

Take care of yourself and keep in in the middle.

Swerve

Hi Swerve,
I should have scrolled down, would have noticed your post.
I can read why, there are no arguments from Barretts ?
Kind of scary.

Sorry to take so long to get back to this thread...even missed the November post totally

They're south of Dillion on the left. I loaded at the plant/warehouse. I didn't go into a mine.

Last time....took 9 hours LMAO Detention worked out okay though, they provide the detention sheets for you, and sign them before you leave

Well Hello there, you made it back ok!

Hey your busy moving down the highway , trying loosen your load, got seven women on your mind, two that want to own you , one says she's a friend of yours.
Take it eeeeeeaaaassy, take it eeeeeaaaaaaaassy!

Got singing on brain if I ain't humming.

So Danc694u, do you go over the Monida Pass?
I travel that route a lot hauling horses down South.
I remember awhile back the sky was so Clear and Blue up there and then you could see brown and smog slowly climbing up the atmosphere.
I bet it is colder than a well diggers ##### up there lately.

Bieng it is way up there , can Qualcom still find ya if your truck , goes on strike?

I did some research on Barrett's and I learned something new everday. The mineral from there is found in a lot of products, like chewing gum for instance.

There are 4 of those Production Mines in the World, 3 in the US. MA , PA and MT. The other in the UK.
I always go back and reread before I post and "Your Excused for being late to my question".
And thankyou their "Youngman" for saying your sorry for being late, aren't you a nice boy!

And by the way I call Every Man a YOUNG Man and Every Woman a YOUNG Woman and calling you a boy, I am obnoxious sometimes. A "Rebel at Souls level"!

I'm avoiding the NW as much as possible this winter, staying east and south.

I chained too much last winter, and don't want a repeat.

Avoiding the NW!

The Look Out Pass from NW Montana to Idaho was closed on this past Sunday the 27th, too much snow !

I don't remember that happening in a long time!

It is a "Skiers" para of ice if your into winter sports and rec!

Barretts used to be really bad about load times. 10 years ago it could take 8 hours or more to get to you. Now a days they get you through within a couple hours.
