USA another reciever to stay away from

I took a load of chicken to Zarates Foods in Modesto, Ca. I had a noon appointment time scheduled by the shipper. I was there at 0900. At noon no one was to be found. I called the numbers and all I got was a voice mail. Finally at 1430 hrs, they showed up. Backed me into a dock and wanted 30 bucks to pull 3 pallets off.
When I went in to settle up, I told them I was charging them 30 for setting 2 and a half hours waiting on them. His boss told me he doesn't deal with drivers, so I said since you don't deal with drivers, get your money from the company, it wasn't my frieght anyway.
So I got him a check number from the company, wrote it on a piece of paper and told him it was a com check number. It was actually EFS. lmao I also transposed a few numbers. Call it old age.
I told him I would never haul another load in for him. He said there were plenty of drivers that would. Sad part is he is right.
I should have stopped at the truckstop and cashed the check on the way to the next stop. Hind site.

If your company has forced dispatch, in a word, "NO." My experience is that even in a company with no forced dispatch, you will be sent to places you swore you would never go to again. The load has to be covered and someone has to do it.
