Just another day at the office, Lurch. You'll see that again, --- maybe not at the same place. Believe it or not, there ARE dock workers who band together and form a let's screw up the Big truck truck drivers ANY way we can --- attitude approach, and they do. Draggin' their feet is ONE way --- usually used when a driver is paid by the mile. But, on the flip side, those union drivers, who would LOVE to hit the jack-pot OVERtime machine --- they do the exact opposite, -- and git 'em out QUICK! So they can run another load that day, instead of sit around in a driver's/employee's lounge -- at time and a half, or $30+ an hour. I heard this straight from a few lumper's mouths. The union drivers affirmed it. If I think they're draggin' their feet, I causally mention sumthin' like --- BoY-0-BoY! This is a GREAT day to be paid on the clock! Now, you didn't say YOU were on the clock --- but they'll hear it that way. But even if they're not sure, they'll tend to take the bait and git 'er done. And I, being a nice guy -------> , I ACT disappointed that they unloaded me so quickly. That way, IF I should return, they'll ALREADY be primed for a quickie. Does that method ALWAYS work? HaiL no. But it's worth a try. WhO knows? And whatta ya got to lose? I mean, some of them COULDN'T move ANY slower. Ya reckon. (Y'all would be amazed at how for forward y'all can go by using REVERSE psychology. I know I know that don't make no sense. WhY do all that when it's easier to just get mad and make THEM mad(der)? Hmmmmmmmmm ------ Well, ......... guess what I'm thinkin'?) ![]() |
