I mean i know WHAT it is, and WHY it is charged, but come on....why does the shipper have to charge the driver up front to drop a trailer. Guess what, it is part of the cosignee's 'order'. and to have a yard dog move the trailer....well guess what....thats your JOB.
I just dropped my loaded trailer at Cargil in Dodge City, KS...and they charged me $30 CASH for this 'shag fee'. I couldnt help but wonder, since 99% of the employees there were mexican, if this 'cash' is actually being shown on some paperwork somewhere, or do they just get to take it home 'under the table'?? Nothing against mexicans, i have a few of em that are friends of mine.....but come on.....the truck driver gets D!CKED enough, now comes this 'fee'??
so now i am out $30 for a week or two till the paperwork goes thru. and if i ever get a load to drop here again, i will not accept it without getting a company advance up front for that stupid 'fee'.
Just what the heck is a "shag fee"?

as far as getting a receipt......hell yeah i got one. i'm not that stupid. They reimburse me for it, or next time i get a load to this place, im going to decline it without getting this 'shag fee' up front. -
remember, we truckers are rich didnt you know, we got deep pockets full of cash to spread around. lol I laugh everytime someone says that and when the newbies tell me thats why they want to drive, I just give them a smack up side the head and ask them how long they been smoking that cheap crack.lol

lol I had the same reaction when I went there. I think it was labor day or something. I talked to the guard and they wanted the fee, I brought out the swift lumper receipt and she looked at me like I was retarded. I then had to go to the Flying J and get cash out because they wouldn't take a comcheck and then I did the mac 40 and they said no not until I got the taxpayer id number, which was like pulling teeth lol.
I remember getting lost there because the name on the qualcomm was different than cargill (cant remember) but I drove by that plant twice until i called and they answered cargill lol. Dur. Yeah I was pissed too wtf do you mean I have to pay to drop? I've never had to pay to drop n hook.
If i remember right, they didn't have an mt for me either lol. Then when I was at the J, I got out and walked between trucks and I immediately realized they were cattle wagons lol. THANKS GOD THEY WERE MT! Nice little slaughterhouse across from the J there lol. FYI they did not swindle you. I got reimbursed just had to get the taxpayer id from the mexicans back there (the guard doesn't have that info, you have to physically go all the way to the back of the lot to the lumping office) you'd think the guard would at least have that info handy. She was a real ##### too. -
I was thinking, they gonna stay that way too. By staying away from yo lazy arse. -
MuddyWaters Thanks this.
