Shippers & Receivers - Good or Bad Load O' Freight That Just Can't Wait. Had a good or bad experience with a shipper or receiver? Discuss grocery warehouses, lumpers, and anything dealing with pickups or deliveries here. Does that shipper let you park and sleep? Does the receiver FORCE you to get a lumper?

Miami - South Florida. Various receivers

I thought I'd start a thread on various recievers, primarly grocery warehouses, along with others in the Miami metro. These are mostly places where reefers and vans go. I mention overnight parking at these places. At some there is street only parking. I have never had a problem once. But park at your own risk.

AMERCAN CUSTOM BROKERS MIAMI
NW 25th st. Easy to get to. Normal daytime business hours, no lumpers, get you backed in pretty quick. Overnight parking okay on street. Good place to deliver.

ANCO FINE FOODS MIAMI
Easy to get to, right of I-95, Miami gardens drive. Normal daytime business hours, no lumpers, anco will break down their own goods themselves, they get you backed in pretty quick. Overnight parking okay. Good place to deliver.

BRIGGS EQUIPMENT WEST PALM BEACH
Here's one for you skates. Or not. I hauled equipment to this place in a reefer. Normal hours, obviously no lumpers, easy to get to, overnight parking right outside their gate is okay. They speak english. Great place to deliver.

CARITECH MIAMI
77th ct. Normal daytime business hours, no lumpers, get you backed in pretty quick. Overnight parking okay on street. Good place to deliver.

CHENEY BROTHERS - RIVIERA BEACH
Normal daytime business hours, lumpers if you need 'em, get you backed in pretty quick. Overnight parking okay on street. Good place to deliver.

CORMAN SHIP SUPPLIES MIAMI
See Anco. Same exact place, same exact rules.

CULINARY SPECIALTIES MIAMI
60th st. Normal daytime business hours, no lumpers, get you backed in pretty quick. Overnight parking okay on street. Good place to deliver. You'll have fun backing into this one though.

CVS PHARMACY DIST WHS - VERO BEACH
This one kinda sucks. Normal recieving hours if you have less than 300 pieces. (something like 300 give or take) If you have more than that, recieving hours start at like 9 pm. This place strikes me as anal as they come. You must be escorted at all times by a dock employee. The have lumpers, but I've not used them. No overnight parking either. There's a brand new T/A about 2 blocks from there.

DOLPHIN FISHERY MIAMI
54th st. Normal daytime business hours, no lumpers, get you in pretty quick. NO overnight parking on street in imediate vicinity. Tailgate this one off (no dock). Good place to deliver.

FRESH POINT (Formerly A1A) POMPANO BEACH
Place kinda sucks. Normal daytime business hours. Might get backed in at appt time, might not. Limited street parking, if you can get it. Good place to be leaving LOL

GORDON FOODS MIAMI
Near 32nd ave. There are two places, frozen and fresh - a couple blocks from each other. I do the fresh, but if you go to froze, backing in is a pain - no room. Normal daytime business hours. Might get backed in at appt time, might not. Limited street parking, if you can get it. Your typical 2 hours for one skid type place.Good place to be leaving LOL

GOURMET FOODS POMPANO
33rd st. Easy to get to. No lumpers. Gourmet will break down their own goods. Start recieving at 3 am thru noonish, but have goten in there later no prob. Tight sucker to back into. Tires on front axle spread leave rubber on ground marking territory lol. One, maybe two trucks can park overnight in lot, otherwise park in church across street. Good guys to deal with.

GRAND WESTERN MEATS FT LAUDERDALE
SW 32nd st. Normal daytime business hours, no lumpers, get you backed in pretty quick. Overnight parking okay on street. Good place to deliver. In and out.

HOME BURGER POMPANO BEACH
15th st. Small joint buying Wis cheese for their store. Place is in a strip mall. Tailgate this one. Good place to deliver, great guys to deal with.

LATIN FOOD GROUP MIAMI
Normal daytime business hours, no lumpers, get you backed in pretty quick. Overnight lot parking okay. Good place to deliver. In and out.

QUIRCH FOODS MIAMI
82nd pl. Easy to get to, off 826. Normal recieving hours. Lumpers are here to restack Quirchs goods. The tier is fine, but restack so there's a hole in the middle. This place is the odd duck. I never park overnight here, so your on your own. Not to bad a place. But not great.

RALEX INTERNATIONAL MIAMI
99th ave. Normal daytime business hours, no lumpers, get you backed in pretty quick. Overnight parking okay on street. Good place to deliver.

SIMPSONS GREENS MIAMI
Normal daytime rec hours. Get backed in quick. Overnight paking okay. Good place to deliver. In and out.

SUNNY MORNING FT LAUDERDALE
Normal daytime business hours, no lumpers, get you backed in pretty quick. Overnight parking okay in lot. Good place to deliver. In and out. Get there before 2-3 pm, or call.

SYSCO FOODS MIAMI (Medley)
Not far off Ochechobee Blvd (Hwy 27). Normal hours, lumpers available. Street parking. Not to bad a place. I've got in and out everytime.
Aside, there either IS, or USED to be a Sysco warehouse off of Miami Gardens drive back in the mid 90's. Could someone confirm?

SYSCO FOODS RIVIERA BEACH
Normal daytime business hours, lumpers if you need 'em, get you backed in pretty quick. Overnight parking okay in driveway that leads to gate/guard shack. Good place to deliver, for a big as they are.

TAMA CORP MIAMI
15th Tr/89th. Normal daytime business hours, no lumpers, get you backed in (blindside) pretty quick. Overnight parking okay on street. Good place to deliver.

TREE OF LIFE MIAMI (Weston)
Normal daytime business hours, lumpers I'm not sure, but you will break it down. Get you backed in pretty quick. Overnight parking okay on street. Only about 2 miles from the Seminole truck stop. Good place to deliver. Kinda.

UNIVERSAL FOODS MIAMI
24th ave. Normal daytime business hours, no lumpers, tailgate this one. Overnight parking okay on street. Good place to deliver.

WALGREENS MIAMI
Been a long long time since I've been here. Used to haul ice cream to them. I remember it being a decent place to go. Maybe someone can add to this.

I'm sure I missed a few. If anyone wants to add, go for it. There's also a ton of others scattered all over the state, Tampa, Orlando, Jax, Daytona, etc, but tried to keep this one Miami metro. If there's some other grocery whse type place in Florida just ask or pm. Odds are good I've been there.

Seminole truck stop Weston (NW Miami) This isnt a five star truckstop, but it's more than adequate. $10 per night to park, unless you buy 75 gallons, then it's free. I've even done 65 gallons and they were cool. The store has the usuall small ticket items, and there's a Subway in there. Showers are decent, located out in their own bldg. There is a TIKI bar right next door, with COLD BEER, burgers and other small orders, as well as breakfast, and ESPN on TV.

You forgot Winn Dixie (next block over from GFS) not a terrible place, plenty of parking on street and inside gate.

Also, Publix in Deerfield Beach, parking available, lumpers available, but a real craphole...

Nice thread, considering there's not much parking in the Miami area. A few that I've been to that have overnight parking Don Greene Poultry Opa-Locka, Restaraunt Depot Pompano Bch and the nicest one for me is Costco Meat West Palm Bch.

Mac Papers in Hialeah, FL is a way cool receiver. My load delivered at 8:00 a.m., I got there at 3:00 p.m. the afternoon before. They stop unloading at 2:00 p.m., or they would have unloaded me then, but they let me spend the night parked on their property (Walmart/MacDonalds/Burger King just around the corner). They unloaded me promptly at 8:00 the next morning, then let me sit there until I got my next load. VERY nice people.

Quirch foods - I guess it's hit or miss on parking overnight. Since I started this thread, I tried to enter the docks late one night, but the "security" dude at the guardshack wouldnt let me in. In extreemely broken eengleesh, I think he was trying to tell me to park out front on the street. So I did, but 5 minutes later a Miami cop told me to move, as ya cant park overnight on the street. There's a parking lot on the left just before ya get to 82nd where you can park overnight. Quirch fellers will come and wake ya up early in the morning and asign a dock.
