If it costs me a dollar to get in and out that much quicker I really don't have a problem with that!!!!

I picked this up from my dad. He drives truck in Europe and will actually hand out a sixpack of beer to the loader guys at some of the big warehouses. Usually bumps him upto the number 1 spot and he's in and out in no time.
Thats a great thing to do. I know it's hard to do but in the mornings, doughnuts go a long long way to making people happy.

The problem with OTR is you do to much for free. The milage pay is for driving. All that waiting around at the shipper/receivers should be compensated. I quit driving years ago because of the unfair conditions. An OTR driver should be guaranteed a minimum of no less than $1000 per week. If you can't average $1000 per week, you are wasting your time out there. There's too many other lines of work that pay better, and you are home with your family at night.
Quit putting up with all the bullcrap. There are better ways to make a living other than being a patsy to these bottom feeder trucking outfits.

the waiting at shippers and receivers is usually compensated by detention time. you may not agree that it's a fair amount but that's what it is. i agree that everyone should be paid for what they do, so on that we do agree. a great many drivers out there make a good living and are happy doing what they do, just like you like your job outside the industry.

you kill more flies with honey, not manure.
Over the years I`ve learned to tactfully make any requests/comments or complaints.Sometimes its not what you say,its how you say it.
Another thing to remember is that you are not the only one with problems.
