Shippers & Receivers - Good or Bad Load O' Freight That Just Can't Wait. Had a good or bad experience with a shipper or receiver? Discuss grocery warehouses, lumpers, and anything dealing with pickups or deliveries here. Does that shipper let you park and sleep? Does the receiver FORCE you to get a lumper?

Nice DOES work...as it did this past week as the first on my own. Actually got into a Sam's Club DC 90mins after my scheduled time...simply by being nice, honest, and humble.

I've since sent thank you cards. Some folks just don't appreciate being treated lke dirt...just as you or I would not like it.

Sometimes you have to kick a reciever in the butt. Home Depot is a 50/50 split of who is awesome and who isn't. Had one guy messing around for a long time, didn't want to take me, so I flat out told him to take the load or refuse it (multi-stop load) and he finally took the load. I was late for the next three stops, but they lightened up when I told them sorry, but I had a problem with store XXX and employee XXX and if they had a problem that they should contact XXX and I'm sorry that XXX held me up for so long.

When they found out it was one of their guys messing around, they kinda got mad and made some calls.

Hi, most times what i do is when on the road, i get like 100 miles from drop point 1, i get on cell phone and tell em im running 25 mins ahead , can they take me, most time they do, most times like menards , i get there , they give me a door er dock, i say theres the bills , goodnight, and knock on the door when your ready for me , most time at menards its my sleeping time so basicly im killing two birds with one stone, so by acceptting that load , that means i unload at menards get my rest and be ready run all night and be all legal, most drivers in my company didnt understand that, same way down in ga at anchor hoking glass 24 hrs too load , my time to rest en laundry there, thats way i use my time at shippers en loaders, most shippers end loaders ask for me by name when they call up my company, best thing is to learn lots lots lots paitaince will go long way, never go in with a chip on shoulder , no matter how much bad day you had, like when i spent 234 bucks outa my own pocket too go across the new yourk bridges five times cause it was a muilta stop en second stop couldnt unload there stop cause they didnt have a forklift and i had ta go back across the brige too last stop and turn the pallet around, they had his in sideways , the second stop ,so they could fit in all the stops, wat a mess, that wasnt my best day, Everett.and being a truckdriver cant speell worth a hoot,
