First time into the NE USA Conn. Load of 8x16 foot air conditioners. Called the customer said I will be in town in 30 minutes.... he said I will meet you at the city limits and escort you in.... mmmm .... I only have a 48 footer.... I will get in there.... WAIT FOR ME!!!! I did and when we reached the town.... my butt was puckering, match box town. They had to block intersections inorder for me to make the turns. Werid.... in the far left side of downtown street using the whole intersection and my trailer just barely touched the stoplight pole.... backed into the customers lot UPHILL and hard left, in my mirrors I was looking at a fork truck on its side (flipped over) unloading the first truck... needless to say I was unloaded elsewhere.

40,000 pounds of grits to a prison in AL. (insert your own southern joke here )
Been to the caves by Joplin, MO. Real pain. Blind curves in there with no way of knowing who's around the next one.

Did the truck shaker thing down south somewhere. Had a load of scrap paper that we delivered to a mill when I was training. There was stuff found on the bunk that we even forgot was in the truck!

OK, this wasn't too wierd, but it was funny as heck! I delivered cleaning supplies to the minimum security prison at Fort Supply, OK. This place was REAL minimum security -- looked more like a college campus. As I was driving around the building to the back where I deliver, you can imagine the reaction from the inmates seeing a woman driving a truck into their world. The guys were clowning and generally doing anything to get my attention. They were all really respectful though and I paid them with a big smile which they enjoyed. Got backed in where they unload and was standing talking to the lady who was supervising the inmates who were unloading me and this 'guy' walks up --let me paint the picture: 'He' was about 5'11", and was a slim black man with the smoothest skin I'd ever seen. He had his hair all done with a long curly pony tail down his back. He sashayed up to near where we were and said "Girl, don't tell me you drive this great big ole truck all by yourself! (insert appropriate feminine hand gestures and facial expressions)" I replied that I did and he says "Girlfriend, you are something else!" Just then the supervisor tells 'him' that he knows he's not supposed to be there when they're unloading a truck. 'He' looks at her and says "I know, I just had to see if this itty, bitty girl was driving this big ole truck all by herself. She is something else", then 'he' sashayed away. It was all I could do to keep from laughing hysterically -- all I could think of was Tracy Morgan playing the cheerleader in the remake of "First and Ten". I have to admit though, 'he' was really pretty LOL.

Not really a weird place but werner once had me deadhead 420 miles to pick up a load that literally delivered across the street. And this was an industrial park type of area.

Weirdest place I ever delivered to was very simple. Took a load of Rose Bushes to a New Shopping mal for them to plant there. A trailer full of the dang things double stacked floor loaded that weighed 35K with 50 thousand pieces worth down to a mall in FL I do not know if that is were they planted them all but that is were I delivered them all. Strangest one I ever pulled is simple a load of Hazmat that if it hit Oxygen it WENT BOOM Stuff is packed in Nitrogen and CO2 gas steel containers with Dry ICe also in the trailers. Your load might weigh 45K total when you start 5K is that #### 40K is Dry Ice at the other end you might be at 25K. BTW with that #### on do not mess up our your a hamburger.

Back in March, i loaded at a orchard nursery in Oregon, took 10,000 saplings of CHERRY, APPLE, PLUM trees to another orchard nursery south of Mufreesboro,Tn

When i was mty, the inside side was a muddy mess, floor to ceiling nose to tail, wall to wall. At least the reciver was helpfull enough to push out all all the wet straw used to keep the load moist, using his bobcat tractor.

Getting a wash out took longer , than to unload. They had to scub everything.

That reminded me of a load for Prime of fish...when MT, it smelled like a dockside, and when I called in, they had an ice cream load waiting for me. Washout didn't work, so I called them back. They had me get a 5lb. can of ground coffee and spread it all over the floor of the wagon.
Danged if that didn't work! No more fiches.

Actually werner pays me more for empty miles than loaded miles usually. .32 for empty and a rotating scale of like 28-32 based on how far you go loaded. So it dosen't bother me when they send me a million miles empty. Helps me get the fuel milleage bonus every month
