Yep that small trash can and a scented 8 gal trash bag from Wal-Mart has come in handy!

After not finding a rest area or place I could stop one day about 20 years ago I was forced to stop on a get on ramp out side of Charlotte, NC. I made it to the side of the truck with my roll of TP and dropped the pants and did what I had to do.

After finishing up I stand up and as I'm pulling my pants up I look up and yes I had an audience! A whole freaking restaurant full of them looking down the hill getting a good look at the whole package! Thank God, as an O/O I had small lettering on the tractor and none on the trailer and I couldn't get out of there fast enough!

That's when I invested in the trash can! It's come in handy on many occasions when there was no alternative but to use it like some of the above situations! Air freshener also helps!

Try finding a place to go when you're a woman! Many a time my husband has stood outside the mens room so I could use it because they didn't have a restroom for women!!

So why you pickin on me? I didn't start this and wasn't one of the ones talking about lawsuits. I simply offered up a suggestion. I am also prepared to do what I have to do in my truck if necessary, but that is no reason to be treated like a second class citizen.

If businesses want goods shipped and delivered by truck, they should learn to work with truck drivers and the trucking companies should stand up for their drivers.

I have discovered that there is usually one jerk in a company that permeates the entire attitude of that company. It is amazing how well truck drivers take care of a nice facility when it is provided. The companies that have nice truckers' lounges are also usually very cordial. There is way more involved in this than just not letting drivers use the restroom. The message that they are sending is very clear in the way they talk to us, long before the no restroom sign is discovered.

Exactly!

And I know what you mean about a nice facility being treated nice. That phenomenon shows up at the truck stops too... if the staff keeps up with the trash in the lot, empty the cans regularly/pick up/sweep, etc., then drivers are less likely to throw trash out in the lot. After all, if the lot is spotless except for one bag of trash sitting by someone's truck... hmmm... wonder who might have done that?

Think about this a bit.

Maybe the guy is a couple of trucks away and did it to make it look like someone else.

Nah, maybe too lazy for that.
