 Richard "dick" Wagner Dick died today a little after 1pm. He was diagnosed as having ALS (Lou Gerhigs disease) about 2 months ago - and was given 2 years to live... He contracted pneumonia right after new years and that - with other complications led him to pass today. He started driving well before I was ever born - and saw the full spectrum of what trucking and freight was. he was a city driver, a road driver, a dockman and a supervisor. He was known for his ability to keep his mouth shut and listen to a problem - then lay out a sense of logic that most of us would love to have. he will be sadly missed by his family - and his friends in and around Cincinnati... he was a mentor,advisor,father figure and the best neighbor I ever had. I could have used his advise 1000 times growing up - and I cry to think that we did not have enough time together.
