Battery Jack

My dad has spent the better part of the last 50 years working on the highways and dealing with truckers. I have no idea how many former customers or broke down guys that he helped are here on the forum. He sure could use your prayers right now.

For the last two months, my mother has been struck down and is wasting away in the ICU with some undiagnosed brain ailment. My father has been patiently sitting with her every day, and still trying to run the business. Now he has come down with pneumonia. Pneumonia in a stressed-out, 72 year old man is not a good thing.

If it is God's will that they both go now, together, than so be it. But we aren't ready to lose either one of them yet, so if anyone has some extra prayers for them, I sure would appreciate it.

Oh, Leanna, I'm so sorry to hear this. Of course I will say some extra prayers for your parents. Keep us posted. And a prayer for you to have strength through all this.

Oh, dear!!! Oh, my goodness!! How horrible!!! My parents are around the same age and I have thoughts every now and then that they may not be around forever and it terrifies me!!!

The doctor told my dad today that it was time to pull the plug on my mother. My dad is bawling like a little kid. I just can't picture life without my mother. I thought it wouldn't happen for so many years. I-80 is completely shut down due to weather so I'm waiting for the morning to head up there. Say a prayer that we do the right thing for my mother.

I am so sorry to hear this. Wish there is something I could say to comfort you, but know that when this strikes close to home that it is a heavy burden to carry. Prayers are for God's will for all of you in your times of need. God Bless you and your family LM.

I don't remember where I read it, but someone once said, the true measure of your love for someone is having the knowledge of when to say goodbye.

That being said, I'm a firm believer that it is not good bye, it's I'll see you later.

May Mom and Dad see each other later.

It is nasty out there. I am sitting here in my classroom trying to get stuff together and this wind is just slamming into these windows. Wind over the summit is over 100 mph according to one report.
