Authorities today are investigating the death of a Virginia trucker whose body was found in the sleeping berth of his tractor trailer at Dauphin County truck stop, Pennsylvania state police at Harrisburg said.

Troopers identified the man as John David Throckmorton, 38, of South Boston. Troopers said Throckmorton was found at 1:15 a.m. in the Truckstops of America lot along Route 39 in West Hanover Township. There were no signs of foul play, troopers said.

How sad. That is pretty young to die of natural causes in his sleep. I guess a warning for truckers to eat right and exercise more.

Man! He was young. My bride and I were talking the other day about how long we wanted to live. She only wants to be healthy and able to go. I told her I wanted to be at least 120 and die at the hands of a jealous 20 year old husband. She didn't find humor in that.

That is exactly what I try to stress to my husband. My uncle was a truck driver and had a heart attack and dropped dead outside of his truck while stopped to get fuel.

That is so sad ..38 yrs old........ and died alone..... such a shame ...my heart goes out to his family and friends .......God love him .......RIP

My heart goes out to his family. Indeed that is way to young to die, especially alone and in your truck...

Might've also been a good idea for him to have a CO detector in his sleeper... and as for dying alone... death is by definition a solitary act.
