Joseph F. King Sr., who was involved in the family trucking business in Juniata Park for more than 50 years, an Army veteran of World War II and a man devoted to his family and church, died Saturday. He was 82 and living in Lawndale but had lived for years in Oxford Circle.

The John M. King Transportation Co. was founded by his father in 1912 and is still in the family. When his father retired in 1962, the company was taken over by Joseph and his two brothers, John M. Jr. and Samuel R.The company has been run by Joseph's son, Joseph F. King Jr., since his father retired.
Joseph King Sr. was born in Philadelphia. He graduated from North Catholic High School and entered the Army, serving in the South Pacific. He was discharged in 1946.
